KAILUA-KONA — No tsunami was triggered by a magnitude-5.4 temblor that struck Monday morning in the summit region of Kilauea volcano.

The earthquake, recorded at 9:21 a.m., was likely the result of a seismic event near the volcano’s summit. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said that based on all available data, no tsunami is expected.
