Kona Book Club meets Tuesday
The Friends of the Libraries, Kona Book Club will meet at 11 a.m. July 17 to discuss this month’s selection, “The Other Einstein” by Marie Benedict.
“The Other Einstein” offers us a window into a brilliant, fascinating woman whose light was lost in Einstein’s enormous shadow. The August selection is “The Orphan Master’s Son” by Adam Johnson.

Ballou releases new book
Local author Linda Ballou has released a new novel, “Wai-nani: A Voice From Old Hawaii.”
The historical novel is inspired by Ka’ahumanu, the favorite wife of Kamehameha the Great, and is a poetic rendering of the ancients with tales of heroes and heroines doing supernatural deeds of mythological proportions.
