KAILUA-KONA — Three Hawaii Fire Department engine companies responded to a structure fire on Kiwi Street in North Kona Tuesday afternoon.
The shack-like structure behind the main house was fully engulfed but unoccupied around 3 p.m.when firefighters arrived, but was quickly extinguished.
No one was injured in the blaze, officials said. The cause of fire was being investigated and the $90,000 ohana unit was a total loss.
