Joy Mills-Ferren

Mrs. Joy Keahipuakauikawekiu Mills-Ferren, of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, died Aug. 3, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu on March 21, 1970, she was a lifeguard for the County of Hawaii.

Visitation has been changed from a previously published obituary due to inclement weather.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 25 at the West Hawaii Community Health Center at 74-5214 Keanalehu Drive in Kailua-Kona (above Kealakehe High School). Email Leilani Mills at leilani59@icloud.com for information.

Ah Mahuna

Ah Ho Wong Mahuna, 92, of Kamuela, died Aug. 12, 2018, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born on Dec. 15, 1925, in Volcano, she was a retired business office supervisor for Hawaiian Tel. She was a member of New Hope – Hilo and a founding member of the Orchid Isle Dog Fancier Club.

Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Aug. 31 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo. Memorial service begins at 10:30 a.m.; urn burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.

She is survived by daughter, Lisa (Rory) Souza of Hilo; son, Lawrence (Keikilani Curnan) Mahuna of Kamuela; one sister-in-law; four grandsons; one granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Anita Durst

Anita Kathleen Durst, 65, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 18, 2018, at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born in Oklahoma City on July 21, 1953, she was a cashier at KTA in Kona and Sack &Save stores.

Private services will be held.

She is survived by her sisters, Jodi (Robert) Tracy-Aviles of Kailua-Kona, Gina Lay of Honolulu; brother, Paul Tracy of Honolulu; a niece and nephew.
