KAILUA-KONA — The Big Island Fair continues through the weekend, bringing magic, superhero sightings and music to the region.

The fun continues today at noon, when the fair opens at Old Kona Airport Park. Opening time Sunday is also noon.

On Saturday, the entertainment stage will feature two performances of Scott’s World of Magic, “the most in-demand magic attraction in the fair industry,” according to a release from E. K. Fernandez Shows.

“There’s plenty of audience participation,” states the release, “including a child that ‘floats in the air’ and a child that is ‘cut in half.’”

Saturday’s magic shows are slated for 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The entertainment stage that day will also host Melodia at 4:30 p.m. with Ronnie V. &The Family Band at 7.

At 9 p.m., Micah G will take the stage.

The magic and music continues on Sunday with three performances of Scott’s World of Magic at 3:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Prior to the last magic show, the stage will host singer-songwriter Kimie Miner at 7 p.m., who was awarded female vocalist of the year as well as song of the year for “Bamboo” at the 41st annual Na Hoku Hanohano Awards.

Families will also get a chance to meet and take photographs with Marvel character Black Panther, who will be on the fairgrounds both Saturday and Sunday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

An E. K. Fernandez Shows Fun Pass — required to pay for admission, rides, games, food and drinks — costs a minimum of $20 for 200 credits on the card, according to the E. K. Fernandez Shows website.

Admission on Saturday is 30 credits from noon-6 p.m. and 50 credits from 6 p.m. to closing. Admission on Sunday is 30 credits from noon to closing.
