Nancy Jones

Nancy Jones died at her home June 30, 2018. Born and raised in California, she had a long career in the television industry defined by her time producing the Wheel of Fortune. Nancy was nominated for 13 Daytime Emmys and produced the Hawaii Horse Expo, proceeds from which benefited the Humane Society’s Horse Rescue Fund, which helps abused and abandoned horses on the Big Island. Nancy also created a sanctuary for rescued horses – the Circle J Sanctuary Foundation in Waimea.

West Hawaii Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.

Debra Duldulao

Debra “Debbie” Ann Duldulao, 67, of Honokaa, died Aug. 6, 2018 at home. Born on Sept. 15, 1950, in Honokaa, she was a former social services worker for H.C.E.O.C.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 15 at Kukuihaele Park.

She is survived by sons, Duffy “Duffy Boy” (Awapuhi) Duldulao of Hilo, Chad (Tinum) Duldulao of Honokaa and Tobey (Geri) Duldulao of Honokaa; daughter, Molani “Tita” Duldulao of Honokaa; brother, Joel (Paula) Mochida of Honolulu, Oahu; two brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lionel Gomes, Sr.

Lionel Lawrance Gomes, Sr., 71, of Mountain View, died Aug. 9, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Jan. 7, 1947, in Honokaa, he was the owner and truck driver for L &L Trucking.

Visitation will be held from 8-9:30 a.m. on Sept. 15 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Honokaa. Funeral Mass begins at 10 a.m., burial to follow at Honokaa Catholic Cemetery. Casual attire.

He is survived by daughter, Lisa (Kainoa) Gomes; sons, Ivan (Robynn) Gomes, Lionel Gomes, Jr., Lee Herbert (Jennie) Gomes, Edward Herbert Nacua and Jonah Gomes; stepson, Michael Balbarino; stepdaughter, Kimberley Balbarino; brother, Mark (Gina) Gomes; sisters, Anita Chang, Maryann (Greg) Marion, Sharon Cordeiro and Virginia (Omar) Baker; stepbrother, Ronnie Baptiste; stepsister, Carol Miller; 29 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one uncle; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ching Sun Lee

Ching Sun Lee, 91, of Volcano, died Aug. 25, 2018, at a private care home. Born in Canton, China, she was a vegetable farmer and homemaker.

Private services held.

She is survived by husband, Robert Lee of Volcano; son, William Lee of Volcano; daughter, Mabel Lee of Los Angeles; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews.

Taro Fujimori

Mr. Taro Fujimori, 96, of Kealakekua, died July 26, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born on June 1, 1922, in Hookena, he was a retired assistant manager at Hawaiian Airlines as a service technician and a volunteer at Puuhonua o Honaunau, Kaloko-Honokohau and other local national parks.

Private services were held.

He is survived by his sons, Sanford Fujimori of Maui and Robert Fujimori of Kealakekua; daughters, Rae (Michael) Godden of Kealakekua and Ellen (Steve) Walton of Newport Beach, California; sisters, Riki Kubo, Mutsu (Norman) Higa, Nao Fuchigami, Yae (Carl) Yamashita, Yoi (Herb) Endo, and Amy Fujimori, all of Oahu; one sister-in-law; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
