KAILUA-KONA — Fire officials are investigating the cause of a Monday night structure in the Hawaiian Ocean View Estates subdivision of Ka‘u.

Responding to the 10:10 p.m. Monday report, firefighters arrived at 10:28 p.m. at 92-1824 Ocean View Parkway to find a single-story construction building with a small fire burning within the structure. The structure was located about 450 feet up a long, narrow driveway inaccessible by vehicle, according to the Hawaii Fire Department.

Firefighters doused the flames within the 120-square-foot building in about 30 minutes. All of the building’s contents were deemed a loss, according to the department.
