Juliet Padrigo

Juliet Funiestas Padrigo, 57, of Naalehu, died Aug. 30, 2018, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born May 27, 1961, in Iba, Zambales, Philippines, she was a housekeeper at Kona Coast Resort and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church Naalehu.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. Sept. 21 at the family residence in Naalehu for an all-night vigil with a Rosary at 6 p.m. Friends may again call at 8 a.m. Sept. 22 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Naalehu for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Naalehu Community Cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn and flowers are welcome.

She is survived by husband, Marlo Padrigo of Naalehu; daughter, Aileen (Walter) Ancheta of Naalehu; son, Jomar (Racheljan) Padrigo of Naalehu; siblings, Wilma (Rudy) Bautista, Rex Funiestas, Naida (Nick) Lacaba, all of the Philippines; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Leopoldo Galapon

Leopoldo “Leo” “Poldo” Eugenio Aguinaldo Galapon, 92, of Keaau, died Sept. 2, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Nov. 16, 1925, in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a tailor and retired nursery worker.

Visitation will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo. Prayer service begins at 6:30 p.m. Casual attire and no flowers.

He is survived by wife, Juliana Ramoran Galapon; daughters, Norma (Raymon) Bolosan of Papaaloa, Zenaida (Ruperto) Agngarayngay of Keaau, Mildred (Pedrito) Mercado of Maui, Carol (Francisco) Mangoba of Papaaloa and Rowena (Nathan) Takiguchi of Hilo; son, Ruben (Marites) Galapon of Keaau; brother, Mariano (Agustina) Galapon of Canada; 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased in death by sisters, Salud Rivera and Caridad Aguinaldo.

Saesha-Rae Denny-Weaver

Saesha-Rae Kim Denny-Weaver, 45 of Idaho, died Aug. 30, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Aug. 26, 1973, in Hilo, she was a cook and massage therapist, member of American Massage Therapy Association and Keaau Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness. She graduated from Waiakea High School.

Memorial service to be held at 4 p.m. Sept. 21 at Ballard Family Mortuary Hilo. Visitation begins at 3 p.m.

She is survived by spouse, Billy Weaver of Weiser, Idaho; mother, Pauline (Raymond) Pader of Keaau; father David (Gloria) Denny of Puna; brothers, Elden Pader of Honolulu, Harlan Pader of Honolulu; sisters, Jamie (Scott) Robertson of Boise, Idaho, Chivas Pader of Keaau, Deverlyn (Rick) Kang of Honolulu. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephew.

Angela Murphy

Angela Lila Murphy, 68, of Keaau, died Aug. 31, 2018, at Pohai Malama. Born in California, she was a retired teacher.

A potlock memorial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 23 at the Center for Spiritual Living East Hawaii, 15-1833 Paradise Drive, Keaau.

Edmund Kong

Edmund “Ed” Velman Kong, 48, of Kawaihae died Aug. 20, 2018, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a landscaper, commercial painter and an avid hunter and fisherman.

Friends may call 8:30-9:45 a.m. Aug. 22 at the Annunciation Catholic Church in Waimea, for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass. Burial to follow at the Kauwe Family Cemetery in Waimea. Casual attire.

He is survived by companion, Rhoda Awaa of Kawaihae; daughter, Elizabethrose Awaa-Kong of Kawaihae; son, Kawika Awaa-Kong of Kawaihae; stepdaughter, Helen Awaa of Hilo; stepson, Kaulana Awaa of Hilo; parents, Russell, Sr. and Glennlee Kong of Kawaihae; brothers, Russell Kong, Jr. of Kawaihae, Keoni Kong of Kawaihae; sisters, Elizabeth (Anson) Kong-Yim of Waikoloa, Roselee (Keoni) Ahana of Waimea; five grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
