Florence Busby

Florence Virginia Busby, 95, of Honomu, died Sept. 25, 2018, in the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Facility in Hilo. Born on Aug. 17, 1923, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was a retired registered nurse and a member of Good Shepherd Mission in Honomu.

Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Oct. 4 at Good Shepherd Mission in Honomu, 28-1640 Old Mamalahoa Highway. Funeral Mass begins at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 in Hilo. Casual attire is requested.

She is survived by son, James R. Busby of Honomu; daughters, Barbara “Boni” Peters of Delaware and Terrilani “Terri” (Henry) Chong of Honomu; sister, Alice (Edward) Beck of New York; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.

Stacey Calimpong

Stacey Kaleihulumamo Kaai Calimpong, of Waikoloa, died Sept. 24, 2018, in Waikoloa. Born Dec. 29, 1955, in Honolulu, she worked as a homemaker.

A celebration of life will be held at 5 p.m. Oct. 5 at Spencer Beach. Online condolences may be posted on www.ballardfamilymortuaries.com.

She is survived by spouse, Edward; sons, Kekoa Sumalpong of Waikoloa; Isaac (Ha’ilani) Kaai of Las Vegas; daughter, Kaikapu (Fred) Karben of Spokane, Wash.; hanai daughter, Jannell Castillano of Honolulu; brother, Sy Kaai of Honolulu; sisters, Esther (Paul) Christian of Papakolea; Joeann (Gene) Helekahi of Papakolea; Cappy (Rudy) Artuyo of Papakolea; Kaui Kaai of Honolulu; Momi Kaai of Honolulu; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mary Wilson

Mary Ellen Wilson, 98, of Hilo, died on Sept. 23, 2018, in Hilo. Born on Jan. 23, 1920, in Flint, Mich.; she was a homemaker.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date in Hawaii and on the mainland.

She was preceded in death by husband, Bonard Scott Wilson; son, Scott Wilson; two sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by daughters, Sherry Wilson Arndt of Hilo, Sally Wilson of Cheney, Wash., and Sue Ellen Wilson of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; brothers, Paul Seals of Olney, Ill., and Don Seals of Paris, Ill.; sister, Carol Bosecker of Harrisburg, Ill.; four grandchildren.
