Cronin Higa
Mr. Cronin Yoichi Higa, age 82, of Hilo, died Sept. 17, 2018, in the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Pahala, Ka’u, on July 6, 1936, he was retired from the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation Airports Division as a maintenance supervisor at the Hilo International Airport and was a United States Army veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the Papaikou Kupuna Softball team and Komohana Gardens Association.
Friends may call 4-5 p.m. Oct. 5 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo for a 5 p.m. celebration of life. Casual attire is requested.
He is survived by wife, Ellen Maetani Higa of Hilo; son, Casey Zenichi (Christine) Higa of Hilo; daughter, Lynne Yaeko Higa of Hilo; brother, Ramsey (Amy) Higa of Los Angeles; sisters, Florence (Harry) Nakamoto of California and Laverne (Gary) Sato of Hilo; granddaughter, Caelynne Yoshiko Higa of Hilo; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Joseph Faisca
Joseph R. Faisca, 91, of North Kohala, died Sept. 4, 2018, at his residence. Born Oct. 16, 1926, in Halawa, North Kohala, he was a retired mechanic for Kohala Nursery, West Hawaii Concrete and the former Kohala Sugar Plantation. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a U.S. Army veteran.
Visitation is at 8 a.m. Oct. 27 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi. Mass at 10 a.m. Family requests no flowers. Luncheon to follow.
He is survived by wife, Helen Faisca of North Kohala; daughters, Jolene (Tyler) Carlson of California, Mary Gail Faisca; son, Joey (Lori) Faisca all of North Kohala; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Ronald Kirk Green, 58, of Kona, died on Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at Nakamaru Hale. Born on Feb. 14, 1960, in Salt Lake City, he was a self-employed master drywaller. He was a member of Group of Hawaii.

Jane Etsuko Pollock, 80, of Hilo, died Sept. 12, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on April 5, 1938, in Honolulu, she was a loving housewife.

Charlotte Rose Taka, 76, of Hilo, died Sept. 18, 2018, at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. She was born in Hilo and was a homemaker and a member of the Hilo Seventh Day Adventist Church.
