Anacleto Heloca Sr.

Anacleto Heloca Sr., 81, of Kailua-Kona, died Oct. 5, 2018, at Marilyn Foster’s Care Home. Born July 13, 1937, in Captain Cook, he was a maintenance man for Longs Drugs in Keauhou, a construction worker, coffee farmer, member of the American Legion, ham radio operator group and a retired National Guard member.

Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Oct. 17 at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery pavilion in Kailua-Kona. Memorial service will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by inurnment. The family requests casual attire.

He is survived by wife, Rosemary Heloca of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Bernadine Heloca of Kailua-Kona and Roselani (Naea) Straus of Kamuela; sons, Anacleto (Fabian) Heloca Jr. of Oahu, Benjamin Heloca and Wayne Heloca of Kailua-Kona; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Esteban Evangelista

Esteban “Steve” Evangelista, 92, of Hilo, died Sept. 11, 2018, at The Queen’s Medical Center. Born Dec. 28, 1925, in Pangasinan, Philippines, he worked for the Sakada sugar plantation, and was a practical nurse and emergency room technician at Hilo Hospital, a member of the Hawaii Government Employee’s Association, Hilo Hospital Retired Club and St. Joseph Catholic Church and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Friends may call 5-6 p.m. Oct. 18 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; service at 6 p.m. Friends may also call 8-10 a.m. Oct. 19 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo; Mass at 10 a.m. Family requests casual attire. Burial at Homelani Memorial Park (Lehua Section).

He is survived by wife, Priscilla Evangelista of Hilo; son, Steve (Sheila Joanette) Evangelista of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; daughter, Daisy (Darren) Shimaoka of Hilo; half-sister, Rosita Torio of Philippines; one brother in-law; one sister-in-law; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.

Jessica Keka

Jessica Kanoe Keka, 52, of Kailua-Kona, died July 16, 2018, at her residence. Born March 29, 1966, in Kealakekua, she was co-owner of Aloha Linen Service and a former head housekeeper for Kona Hawaiian Village and Holua Resort.

A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Oct. 20 at Hale Halawai; service at 3 p.m. Pupu and dinner to follow. Family requests casual attire be worn. Lei and loose flowers are welcome.

She is survived by companion, Raynell-Buddy Mata; father, Joseph Keka Sr.; son, Bronson (Chayla) Mata-Keka; brothers, Joseph Keka Jr., Jay (Emily Estoy) Keka, and Joel Keka, all of Kailua-Kona, and Justin (Nichole) Keka of Pahoa; sisters, Jean (Geri Keka-Santana) Keka of Kailua-Kona, and Janice (Douglas) Belt of Oregon; one granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews.
