Colleen Olof

Colleen Marie Olof died Sept. 11, 2018 in Pahoa. Born April 23, 1952, she became her professional label as her seamstress skills grew into a livelihood. She designed, sewed and embroidered intricate senses of old Hawaii and was a member of Doll Collectors Club of East Hawaii.

Friends and Family are invited to a potluck celebration noon to 2 p.m. Oct. 20 at the farm house in Pahoa.

She was preceded in death by her parents Don and Marilyn Hult, and husband David Olof.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Casey Merle of Waimea and Gabriel Merle of Kawaihae; sisters, Carol Hult of Kodiak, Alaska; Diane Munter of Lincoln, Neb.; brother, David Hult of Lincoln, Neb.; companion of 22 years, Ted Philips of Pahoa; one granddaughter.

Ashley Francisco

Mr. Ashley “Nalu” Ku’uipohe’enalu Kelly Lee Francisco, 35, of Naalehu, died Sept. 2, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Hilo on May 5, 1983, he was a fisherman.

Private services will be held.

He is survived by his father, Michael Dubberstein of Naalehu; son, Kainalu Francisco of Oahu; daughters, Karilinn Pu of Maui and Jarayha Francisco of Oahu; brother, John Kalahiki Jr. of Kailua-Kona.

Setsuko Kimura

Setsuko Kimura, 85, of Hawi died Sept. 14, 2018, at her residence. Born in Makapala, Kohala, she was the retired director of nursing and a registered nurse at Kohala Hospital.

Friends may call 9:30-10:30 a.m. Oct. 20 at the Mana Christian Ohana Church (Kahilu Town Hall in Waimea, Hawaii); a celebration of her life will begin at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire.

She is survived by daughter, Karen (Ricky) Mahi of Kohala; son, Glen (Glenn Kanemaru) Kimura of Kohala; hanai daughter, Leiola (Tony) Mitchell of Waimea; hanai son, Shane (Lyanne) Ching of Kohala; one brother-in-law; seven grandchildren, one great-grandson, numerous nieces and nephews.

Gary Greer

Gary Alan Greer, 75, of Kailua-Kona, died Sept. 22, 2018, at Kohala Hospital. Born in Maywood, Calif., on Sept. 5, 1943, he was a dry dock boat maintenance worker, a radio controller for fishing tournaments, fisherman, deck hand, and a U.S. Navy veteran.

A celebration of life will be held on Oct. 21 at the Honokohau boat harbor point on Kealakehe Parkway in Kailua-Kona with scattering of ashes at noon and continue at the Harbor House Restaurant. Please wear casual attire.

He is survived by his son, Gary Greer of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; daughter, Shanlynne Greer of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; sister, Denise (Ronald) Bishop of Phoenix; hanai sister, Heather (Richard) Peterson of Kailua-Kona; stepfather, Arthur Elton of Nevada; several grandchildren.

Tiffany Bormann

Tiffany Marie Hitt Bormann, 37, of Milolii, died Oct. 10, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Phoenix, she was a stay at home mom.

A private memorial service held.

She is survived by her fiancé, Kyle Napeahi of Milolii; daughters, Isabella and Arianna Bormann of Albuquerque, N.M.; mother, Pamela Cappione of Arizona; father, Daniel Hitt of Arizona; brother, Travis Mattison of New York; maternal grandfather, David George of North Carolina; one mother-in-law; several aunts and uncles all of North Carolina; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Elpidio Cuaresma

Elpidio Cabarles Cuaresma, 83, of Pepeekeo, died Sept. 26, 2018, at home. Born Aug. 3, 1935, in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a retired worker for the Hilo Coast Processing Company and a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou.

Friends may call 5 p.m. Oct. 21 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel for a 6 p.m. wake service. Friends may call again 9-10 a.m. Oct. 22 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Casual attire and flowers are welcomed; burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section).

He is survived wife, Iluminada Cuaresma of Pepeekeo; son, Edmund (Glorie) Sadang of Hawaii; brothers, Bernard Cuaresma of California and Rolf Cuaresma of Canada; sisters, Genarosa Guerzon and Virginia Cuaresma of Philippines; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
