Michael Shine
Michael C. Shine, 53, of Waikoloa, died Oct. 14, 2018. Born July 24, 1965, in Honolulu, to Frederick Shine III and Gayle (Godwin) Shine. He grew up in Honolulu, where he met his wife of 30 years Kari (Korver) Shine. They married in Sioux City, Iowa and moved to several communities in Hawaii and Iowa during their 30 years of marriage.
Services were held at Big Island Baptist Church, Keauhou Shopping Center.
He is survived by his wife Kari; son, Logan (Jackie) Shine of Des Moines, Iowa; daughter, Shijan Shine of Sioux City, Iowa; father and step-mother, Fred and Pat Shine, of Honolulu; sister Terri Shine of Honolulu, one aunt; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Gayle (Godwin) Shine; grandparents, Fred and Anne Shine all of Honolulu.
Wayne Leopoldino
Wayne Leopoldino, 77, of Hilo, died Oct. 13, 2018, at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired contractor.
Private services were held.
He is survived by his son, Harlan (Ronda) Leopoldino of Hilo; daughters, Debra Carter of Hilo, Cheryl (Kim) Hoshino of Mountain View and Lynnet (Wayne) Gonsalves of Mountain View; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
