Rosaline Gouveia

Rosaline Martins Gouveia, 96, of Captain Cook, died Sept. 23, 2018, at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born July 17, 1922, in Holualoa, she was a coffee farmer and member of St. John’s Catholic Church.

Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Oct. 27 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Kealakekua. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kona Memorial Park in Holualoa. The family requests causal attire.

She is survived by son, Roy Gouveia of Captain Cook; daughter, Genevieve Gouveia Wheeler of Captain Cook; sisters, Jane Henriques of Captain Cook; Julia Preston of Mountain View and Vivian Marumoto of Nebraska; brother, Joseph (Amparo) Gouveia of Pahoa; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Peregrina Macahito

Mrs. Peregrina “Peling” Lopez Ramos Macahito, 87, of Hilo, died Oct. 17, 2018, at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Facility in Hilo. She was born in the Philippine Islands on June 22, 1931, and was a housewife.

Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Oct. 25 St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo at 43 Kapiolani St. Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Cremation will follow. Casual attire is requested.

She is survived by daughters, Elizabeth (Sancho A. Escober) Ramos Macahito Escober-Mendiola of Saipan, Janet Arboleda Ramos-Cordova of the Philippine Islands, Joselyn (Danilo Dalit Jucutan) Ramos Macahito-Jucutan of Hilo, Juvy (Domingo Cabral Pablo) Ramos Macahito-Rojo of Hilo and Marilyn Ramos Macahito of Keaau; sons, Narciso (Delia Narcisco-Macahito) Ramos Macahito, Jr. of California and Garry (Maria Sarmiento Cano) Ramos Macahito of Keaau; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and cousins.
