Voters were favoring two amendments to Hawaii County’s charter by large margins Tuesday.

With six of 43 precincts reporting, amendments to create more oversight over the county Salary Commission and require future charter amendments to come with a fiscal impact statement were both on track to pass with 82 percent of the vote each.

Statewide, a ballot initiative to hold a constitutional convention was failing with nearly 77 percent of voters opposed during early returns.
