KAILUA-KONA — Two days into trial in 3rd Circuit Court, an 18-year-old man accused of felony sexual assaults at Old Kona Airport Park two years ago changed his plea to guilty.

Samuel Latrik pleaded guilty as charged to first-degree sexual assault, second-degree assault, kidnapping, third-degree sexual assault and third-degree attempted sexual assault.

The teen also pleaded no contest to terroristic threatening, first-degree sexual assault and robbery.

Latrik was one of two individuals involved in a sexual assault against a woman at Old Airport on the soccer field in the evening of Sept. 3, 2016. Tyron Sigrah was also charged in the case.

This afternoon, Latrik’s attorney James Biven informed the court he had gone over the charges and plea agreement with his client multiple times with a Marshallese interpreter.

Judge Robert D.S. Kim read the charges aloud in the court and asked Latrik what his plea was.

The teen quietly replied guilty or no contest.

The plea agreement was read outside of the presence of the jury.

Sigrah pleaded guilty in October to charges of first-degree sexual assault, robbery, kidnapping and second-degree assault.
