Stanley Miranda

Stanley Gilbert Miranda, 70, of Paauilo, and formerly of Kahuku and Mililani, died Nov. 9, 2018, at home. He was born in Wahiawa, and was a retired building inspector with the State of Hawaii, Department of Accounting and General Services, a member of the Paauilo Hongwanji Mission, Kaapahu Community Kumiai, and a former Honokaa High School girls and boys basketball coach.

Friends may call 3-4 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 4 p.m. memorial service. Casual attire, no flowers.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Miranda of Paauilo; sons, Shon (Jaime) Miranda of Mililani and Scot (Natasha) Miranda of Mountain View; mother, Evelyn Miranda; brother, Frank Joseph (Sachi) Miranda; sister, Bernice Miranda, all of Mililani; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Raymond Izuno

Raymond Tokio “Yoyo” Izuno, 69, of Hilo, died Nov. 26, 2018, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born Aug. 16, 1949, in Hilo, he was the proprietor of Bayfront Service, Inc. in Hilo. He was a U.S. Army and National Guard veteran.

Visitation will be held 5-6 p.m. Dec. 12 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo. Funeral service will begin at 6 p.m. Burial service will be held at noon Dec. 13 at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 in Hilo. Casual attire is requested.

He is survived by wife, Brenda Izuno of Hilo; son, Raymond Izuno, Jr. of Hilo; daughter, Shelley Izuno of Kaneohe; brothers, Alvin (Kate) Izuno of Reno, Nevada and Dean (Maureen) Izuno of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Lynn Izuno of Honolulu; granddaughter, Yuki Izuno of Hilo; numerous nieces and nephews.

William Meyers

William Ellsworth Kealakahi “Uncle Willy” Meyers, 68 of Hilo, died Nov. 14, 2018, at Tripler Army Center in Honolulu. Born on June 3, 1950, in Honolulu, he was a U.S. Vietnam Marine veteran, Native Hawaiian Historic Preservation Council representative, OHA member, DHHL Commission member.

Marlin Harris

Marlin Gaynor Harris, 62 of Waikoloa, died on Nov. 8, 2018 at home. Born on June 4, 1956 in Akron, Iowa, he was a luxury and custom home builder.

Fhitilia Cabrera

Fhitilia “Mary” Kaaihue Kaholoa’a Cabrera, 76, of Kapaau, died Nov. 20, 2018, at her residence. Born in Waipio Valley on Dec. 30, 1941, she was a hostess at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and a hostess and waitress at the Bamboo Restaurant in Kohala. She was a member of Aha Hui Kaahumanu Society, Kohala, the Kohala Senior Citizens, Kohala Kupuna Baseball Team and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Visitation will be held at 8 a.m. Dec. 15, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hawi. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. followed by burial in the Hawi County Cemetery. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

She is survived by her husband, Harry Cabrera of Kapaau; son, Elton (Alia) Cabrera-Zuke of Waikoloa; daughter, Cheryl Cabrera of Kapaau; hanai daughter, B-Jo Victorino of Kohala; brothers, Yama (Caroline) Kaholoa’a of Molokai, Mona (Bobby) Kaholoa’a of Hilo and Jeremiah (Raina) Kaholoa’a of Maui; sisters, Eunice Thomas of Alabama, Nina Kaholoa’a of Hilo, Sophie (Brian) Dias of Kona, Cecelia (Danny) Dochin of Kona and Jessica Pavao of Kamuela; four grandchildren; two god-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lilinoe Onishi

Lilinoe “Lily” Yasuko Onishi, age 95, of Hilo, died Nov. 7, 2018, at her residence in Hilo. Born in Papaikou on Oct. 8, 1923, she was retired from the former Kurohara’s and Men’s Shop stores in Hilo as a warehouse clerk.

Private services were held. The family requests no flowers and no koden (monetary offerings).

She is survived by husband, Yorio Onishi of Hilo; sons, Richard (Joni) Onishi of Hilo, Winfred (Eileen) Onishi of Hilo, Allan Onishi of Hilo and Dennis “Fresh” (Sunny Ware) Onishi of Hilo; daughter, Lucilla (Wendell) Higa of Hilo; brother, Tomoharu (Sue) Nakamura of Hilo; sisters-in-law, Yayoi Nakamura of Hilo, Sueko Yorita of Hilo and Doris Onishi of Hilo; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Hollymae Himalaya

Hollymae Keaonani Himalaya, 59, of Kailua-Kona, died Nov. 20, 2018 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Hilo on Sept. 20, 1959, she was a housekeeper at the former Kona Village Resort. She was a food waitress at Uncle Billy’s and Hilo Hukilau hotels. She was a hula dancer and a logistics employee at Target.

A celebration of life will be held at 5 p.m. Dec. 19 at Old Airport big pavilion in Kailua-Kona. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Himalaya of Kailua-Kona; son, Kamuela (Kehau) Himalaya of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Misty (Cash) Germano of Kailua-Kona; father, Samuel (Yvonne) Bishaw, Sr. of Hilo; brothers, Samuel (June) Bishaw Jr. of Kailua, Oahu and Manfred (Joanne) Branco of Waimea; sisters, Cleveann DeMotta of Aiea, Oahu, Kathy (Paul) Shimizu of Haleiwa, Oahu, Heather Bishaw of Honokaa; five grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Robert Decker

Robert “Bob” Duane Decker, 76, of Waikoloa, died Dec. 2, 2018 at his residence. Born April 3, 1942 in Paonia, Colorado, he was a retired master carpenter, a boat builder, member of Waikoloa Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.

A service will be held 9 a.m. Dec. 11 at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to North Hawaii Hospice, 65-1328 Kawaihae Road, Kamuela, Hawaii 96743.

He is survived by wife, Terry Decker of Waikoloa; daughter, Christy Decker of Honolulu; son, Benjamin (Aidee) Decker of California; brother, Larry Decker of Arizona; sister-in-law, Jackie Mattison of Waikoloa; numerous nieces and nephews.

Daniel Luce

Daniel Matthew Luce, 68 of Mountain View, died Oct. 21, 2018 at home. Born on July 30, 1950 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he was a building contractor and school bus driver.

John Carl Haywood, 88, of Kamuela, died Nov. 19, 2018. Born in Berlin, Germany on Sept. 23, 1930, he was a building contractor and carpenter.

Richard Walker

Richard Arvel Walker, of Holualoa, died Nov. 27, 2018. Born in San Francisco, California on Sept. 12, 1963, he worked as a pump manager for West Hawaii Concrete.
