Patricia Amina

Patricia “Pat” “Pinky” Amparo Amina, 66 of Kailua-Kona, died Dec. 11, 2018, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Hilo on Feb. 7, 1952, she was a retail department manager for Walmart in Kailua-Kona.

Services to be held Dec. 27 at Calvary Community Church, 76-4295 Leilani St. in Kailua-Kona. Viewing is from 8-10 a.m. Service begins at 10 a.m. and burial to follow at noon at West Hawaii Veteran’s Cemetery, 72-3245 Queen Kaahumanu Highway.

She is survived by parents, Rodolfo and Julita Silan of San Diego; son, Jason (Kristina Sanchez) Amina of Waikoloa; daughter, Julissa (Thomas B. Neal) Amina of San Diego; hanai son, Kana Burcena of Holualoa; brothers, Rodolfo Silan, Jr. of San Diego, Marvin Burcena and Kenneth Burcena both of Honolulu; sisters, Jessica Baskett of San Diego, Carol Otake of Washington, Maria-Kristine Burcena of California; one grandson; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Thomas Redican

Thomas Tucker Redican, 84 of Kapaau, died Dec. 11, 2018, at home. Born on Dec. 15, 1933, in Syracuse, he was a marine insurance agent and member of Friendly Sons of St. Patrick and Hui O’Kainalu.

Thomas is survived by spouse, Patricia Jean Redican of Kapaau; sons, Sean Niels Redican of Kailua, Oahu, Colin Tucker Redican of Kailua, Oahu; daughter, Erin Meredith Henderson of Kapaau.

Tsuruko Shimabukuro

Tsuruko Shimabukuro, 91, of Hilo, died Dec. 9, 2018, at the Legacy Hilo Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born in Olaa and was a vegetable prep worker with Hilo Products, Inc., a member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and the Lower Kawailani Kumiai.

Private services held. No koden.

She is survived by her sons, Robert I. Shima of Hilo, Aaron S. Shimabukuro and John K. (Stacie) Shimabukuro, both of Honolulu; daughter, Elaine (Edwin) Kudaishi of Honolulu; brother, Douglas (Corrine) Higa of Kamuela; sisters, Amy Ban of Hilo and Tomie Higa of Honolulu, five grandchildren, one great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.

Antone Cardoza, Jr.

Antone Cardoza, Jr., 93, of Hilo, died Dec. 11, 2018, at his residence. Born on June 9, 1925, in Oahu, he was a retired welder for a Pineapple Processing Company on Oahu.

Private services will be held at a later date.

John Davis

John M. Davis, 70, of Mountain View, died Dec. 3, 2018, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born Aug. 1, 1948, in Des Moines, Iowa, he was retired from the Hawaii Carpenters Union as a field representative. He was also a past-president of the Hilo Council Navy League, long-standing member of the Court Mauna Kea No. 8854 Ancient Order of Foresters and an avid golfer.

Visitation on Dec. 29, at Heritage Christian Fellowship, 165 E. Kawili St., Hilo, 9-10 a.m.; memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. Casual attire is requested.

He is survived by ex-wife, Vicki Davis of Hilo; son, Skip B. Davis of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter, Brandi M. Picardal of Waipahu; sister, Linda Casson Davis of Des Moines, Iowa; grandson, Ethan Picardal of Waipahu.

Kemra Martin

Kemra Anne Martin, 55, of Napoopoo, died Dec. 12 at home. Born July 25, 1963, in Ashland, Oregon, she was photographer, midwife and world traveler.
