Jobirik Ittu

Jobirik Ittu, 63, of Pepeekeo, died Dec. 13, 2018 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kosrae, Micronesia, he was a retired high school principal in the Marshall Islands and member of the Marshallese United Church of Christ in Keaau.

Friends may call 10-11 a.m. Dec. 27 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; funeral service at 11. Burial to follow at Alae Cemetery. Casual attire is requested.

He is survived by wife, Neimos Ittu of Pepeekeo; daughters, Cathlina (Jonel) Marshall of the Marshall Islands, Nancy Ittu of Kosrae and Marshall Islands; eight grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert Campbell

Robert “Rob” Lance Campbell, 48, of Kailua-Kona, died Dec. 19, 2018 at his residence. Born Feb. 1, 1970 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, he was a loving father and husband who loved his job as a volcano tour guide for Kapohokine Adventures. He was also a musician and songwriter.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

He is survived by wife, Heather Schultze of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Emily (Bo Kiaaina) Campbell; son Jack Campbell, all of Waimea; mother, Marilyn Campbell; father, Bob Campbell; sisters, Leah (David) Villa, Leslie McGeoy all of California; numerous friends, nieces and nephews.

Jeanette Silva

Jeanette K. (Hanohano) Silva, 74, of Hilo, died Dec. 1, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Lehua K. Barajas of Hilo,and MayDean Kau’i Martins of Hilo; two sons, Arthur (Jaime Crivello) Silva of Hilo, and Manuel D. Martins IV of Hilo; two stepsons, Jeffery W. (Josephine) Silva of Kona, and Roy (Iris) Silva of Hilo; a brother, Edward K. Hanohano of Hil; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jyoti Ulrych

Jyoti Ulrych died on Dec. 12, 2018, at the age of 75. She was a restaurant owner and a member of the Kawaihae Canoe Club.

Mildred Inouye

Mildred Miyoko Inouye, 86, of Captain Cook, died Nov. 21, 2018 at Castle Adventist Hospital on Oahu. Born in Kealakekua on August 29, 1932, she was the proprietor of Mune’s Repair Shop. She was a coffee farmer and a former member of the AJA Bowling League, Kona Bowling Association and Big Island Automotive Trade Association.

Private services were held.

She is survived by her sons, Ray (Naomi) Inouye of Captain Cook, Roy (Jewel) Inouye of Minnesota, Gary (Frances) Inouye of Utah; daughters, Lora Nishomoto of Hilo, Lei (Wesley) Ching of Waipahu, Oahu; brothers, Walter Hiraishi of Kailua-Kona, Richard (Blanche) Hiraishi of Pearl City, Oahu; brother-in-law, Joe Herzig of Florida; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Michael Barber

Michael “Mikey” John Barber, age 52, of Hilo, died Dec. 19, 2018 in the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Facility in Hilo. Born in Laurinburg, North Carolina on March 14, 1966, he was a truck driver and volunteer firefighter.

Visitation will be held at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo on Dec. 29 from 3-4 p.m.; memorial service will begin at 4 p.m. Casual attire is requested.

He is survived by wife, Alanna Barber of Hilo; son, Marcus Barber of Hilo; brother, Fred (Lucia Luera) Barber of Alice, Texas; mother-in-law, Sharon Purbaugh of Hilo; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Jane Jenkins

Jane Ayano Jenkins, of Kailua-Kona, died Dec. 14, 2018. Born in Kahaluu on Jan. 12, 1926, she worked as a bank teller.

Dianne Hill

Dianne Faith Hill, of Kailua-Kona, died Dec. 15, 2018. Born in Wisconsin on May 26, 1939, she worked in retail sales.

Calisto Mateo

Calisto Mateo, 78, of Hilo, died Dec. 15, 2018 at his residence. Born on April 15, 1940, in Hilo, he was a retired painting contractor and he also served in the Hawaii Army National Guard.

Friends may call Jan. 4 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Visitation from 5-6 p.m.; funeral service at 6 p.m. Casual attire; flowers and lei are welcomed. A graveside committal service will be held on Jan. 5 at Homelani Memorial Park at 10 a.m. with military honors.

He is survived by wife, Violet Mateo of Hilo; daughter, Deborah (Brian) Heidenfeldt of Hilo; sons, Calvin (Ronaleen) Mateo and Thomas (Rae) Mateo of Hilo, Reynold (Erica) Mateo of Alaska; sisters, Martina Mateo and Shirley Mateo of Oahu, Maria Erece of Papaikou; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Gadioso Pulgados

Gadioso “Teddy” Pulgados, Sr., 89, of Pepeekeo, died Nov. 30, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Born October 28, 1929, in Pepeekeo, he was a retired maintenance technician for the former Waiakea Village in Hilo. He also was a veteran in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, founder of Teddy’s Angels (TA’S) Softball Club and a member of the Big Island Chapter 231 and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou.

Friends may call on Jan. 3 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Visitation from 5-6 p.m.; wake service at 6 p.m. Friends may call on Jan. 4 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou, Visitation from 9-10:30 a.m.; Celebration of Mass at 10:30 a.m. Casual and flowers are welcomed; burial at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 at 11:30 a.m.

He is survived by daughters, Gloria (Richard) Barnett of Oklahoma, Diana Pulgados of Hilo, Annalynn (Ernest) Ugalde of Pepeekeo and Taniya (Jamiesen) Batangan of Hawaiian Acres; sons, Gadioso (Kristine) Pulgados, Jr. of Hawaiian Paradise Park, Christopher (Desiree Fiesta) Pulgados and Charles Pulgados of Pepeekeo; sisters, Lucia (Zack) Abregano of Honolulu and Roselina (Emery) Wong of California; brothers in-law, Ashley Hung and Roy Santos of Hilo, Samuel (Betty) Santos of New Mexico; sisters in-law, Irene Gomes and Cheryl (Matsu) Uehara, Carol (Randall) Nakasato, Lora Cardines and Naomi Santos of Pepeekeo, Joan Santos of Pensylvania; 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
