Elderly Recreation Services offering winter classes

Elderly Recreation Services has announced its winter class list for seniors 55 and older, starting Tuesday, Jan. 8.

Senior Fitness Class – Elderly Recreation Services, 8:30 a.m. Tuesdays at Kona Aerials, 74-550 Honokohau St., Kailua-Kona, with instructor Nanette Guiffrida. Work on fitness to stay limber and active. $10 fee for entire 10 week session.

Crafts – Elderly Recreation Services, 9 a.m. Tuesdays at Waimea – Lily Yoshimatsu Senior Center, 67-1199 Mamalahoa Highway, Waimea, with the Waimea Senior Club. Yearly club dues apply. Get involved with the Waimea Senior Club and enjoy various crafts.

Tai Chi Class – Elderly Recreation Services, 9 a.m. Tuesdays at Kona – Hale Halawai, 75-5760 Alii Drive, Kailua-Kona, with instructor Rick Li. A relaxing and enjoyable exercise that can help improve your health. $10 fee for entire 10 week session.

Deep Water Aerobics Class – Elderly Recreation Services, 9 a.m. Tuesdays at Kona Community Aquatic Center, 75-5530 Kuakini Highway, Kailua-Kona, with instructor Martin Petrofes. A great, no-impact way to stay healthy and active. $10 fee for entire 10 week session.

Ukulele Class (Beginners) – Elderly Recreation Services, 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays at Kona – Hale Halawai with instructor Tad Humble. Want to learn how to play the ukulele or improve? Join Tad and other ukulele enthusiasts. $10 fee for entire 10 week session.

Line Dancing Class – Senior Activity, 10:15 a.m. Tuesdays at Waikoloa Community Church, 68-3621 Paniolo Ave., Waikoloa Village, with instructor Paulette Chang. Bring your boots and learn a few new dances with this great way to stay active and healthy. $10 fee for entire 10 week session.

Ukulele Class (Intermediate) – Elderly Recreation Services, 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays at Kona – Hale Halawai with instructor Tad Humble. Improve your ukulele skills and jam with others. $10 fee for entire 10 week session.

Mah Jong Class – Elderly Recreation Services, 1 p.m. Tuesdays at Kohala Intergenerational Center, 54-364 Kamehameha Park Road, Kapaau, with instructor Charlotte Metzler. Learn this fun enticing game and find a place to play. $10 fee for entire 10 week session.

Kona Regional (Yano Hall) Senior Club Meeting – Elderly Recreation Services, 9 a.m. Tuesdays at Captain Cook – Yano Memorial Hall, 82-6145 Mamalahoa Hwy, Captain Cook. Come talk story and participate in activities. Yearly club dues apply.

Waimea Senior Club meetings starting Jan. 15, will be 9 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month at the Lily Yoshimatsu Senior Center. Come talk story and participate in various activities. Yearly club dues apply.
