Saturnina Bolos

Saturnina “Nina” Mesiona Bolos, 86, of Keaau, died Nov. 22, 2018, at home. Born on June 4, 1932, in Waipahu, she was a former field and plant worker for Del Monte Corporation and Dole Cannery. She was also a homemaker.

Visitation will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. Jan. 5 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo. Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. with cremation to follow. Casual attire.

She is survived by children, Zola (Leonard) Labrador of Keaau, Alexander (Jann) Bolos of Oahu, Steven Bolos of Keaau, Warren Bolos of Greenville, S.C., Louisa Cobb-Adams, Gerlyn (Elson, Sr.) Kalawe of Pahoa and Dean Bolos of Keaau; brothers, Don (Winona) Mesiona of Oahu, Patrick Mesiona of Oahu and David (Paulette) Mesiona of Oahu; sisters, Rosie (Bonifacio) Taneca of the Philippines, Linda (Colin) China of Mililani, Oahu, Laura (Leonard) Tangonan of Waipahu, Oahu, Sharyn (James) Starr of Oahu, Renona (Jorge) Morales of Florida, Cheryl Drew of Ohio and Roberta (Phil) Larry of Oahu; two daughters-in-law; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

David Rodrigues

David Kaikaikaokekoa Rodrigues, stillborn boy, of Keaau, died Dec. 16, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. No services.

He is survived by parents, Dietrick Rodrigues and Jasmine Alaniz; sister, Deivalyn Rodrigues; brother, Damion Rodrigues; sister, Amaya Kelly; brother, Ansyn Royston; sister, Ariya Rodrigues; grandparents, Uilani and Donald Colon, Ricky (Stacey Furtado) Alaniz, Sr., Darrilynn Pomroy and Darren Rodrigues, Sr.

Constantine Coutsourakis

Constantine “Gus” Manuel Coutsourakis, 83, of Pahoa, died Sept. 3, 2018, at Hilo Medical Center. Constantine was born and raised in New York to a Greek family. He went to college in Michigan and earned his degree in electronic engineering. Constantine served in the Army from 1958 to 1961 as a mechanical engineer and was awarded a Good Conduct Medal. The family moved to Hawaii in 1991 where he worked for Keck observatory and UH Manoa building electric vehicles.

He is survived by son, Chris (Tennille) Coutsourakis; daughter, Tonya Coutsourakis; one grandson.

Eileen Souza

Eileen P. Souza, 90, of Honokaa died Dec. 14, 2018, at Hale Hoola Hamakua. She was born in Ahualoa and was a retired nut factory worker with the former Honokaa Sugar Co., a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the Honokaa Senior Citizens.

Visitation 8-10 a.m. Jan. 5 at the Honokaa Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Memorial Mass at 10 a.m., followed by urn committal at the church cemetery. Casual attire.

She is survived by her sons, Wayne (Shannon) Souza of Kalopa and Manuel (Jennifer) Souza of Honokaa; daughter, Sharon (Alexis) DeMello of Ahualoa; sister, Agnes P. Carvalho of Honolulu; seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Stanley Tanaka

Stanley Tamotsu Tanaka, 81, of Mountain View, and formerly of Honolulu, died Nov. 16, 2018, at home. He was born in Honolulu, and was a retired truck driver with City Mill, member of Hale Pule Ke Ola Hou Church and the Teamsters Local 996.

Friends may call 9-11 a.m. Jan. 5 at the Borthwick Mortuary, Mauna Kea Chapel in Honolulu for an 11 a.m. celebration of life ceremony. Casual attire.

He is survived by daughter, Dawn Sulun (Jarrett) Tavares of Mountain View; sons, Stanley Koichi Tanaka and Walter Henriques, both of Honolulu; sisters, Karen Nishio of Fresno, Calif., Eleanor (Jack) Yamamoto and Vivian (Harris) Nakamura, both of Honolulu; nine grandchildren, four great- grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Hank Badajos, Jr.

Hank Honorio Badajos, Jr., 83, of Keaau, died Dec. 25, 2018, at his residence. He was born in Honolulu, and was a retired maintenance worker at the Kaneohe State Hospital, merchant marine for the Dole Co., and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Geraldine Pohina

Geraldine “Pua” Napua Pohina, 65, of Hilo, died Dec. 25, 2018, at Pohai Malama. She was born in Honolulu and was a farm hand for Hukumele Plantation and a member of the Hilo Church of God.
