KAILUA-KONA — The state Department of Health Clean Water Branch on Friday canceled a water quality advisory for Kahaluu Beach Park in North Kona.

The advisory was issued Jan. 10 after the branch detected levels of enterococci as high as 324 per 100 mL at the beach during routine beach monitoring. On Friday, the branch said “enterococci levels no longer exceed advisory levels.”

DOH advisories typically remain in effect until water sample results no longer exceed the threshold level of 130 enterococci per 100 mL.
