Ky-Mani Marley, the son of reggae music legend Bob Marley, will be performing in Kailua-Kona next week.

Brought to the Big Island by Grab the Reef Entertainment, Ky-Mani Marley’s concert will be at Laverne’s Sports Bar on Alii Drive on Thursday, Feb. 7, and is in part a celebration of his father’s birthday weekend. Bob Marley’s birthday was Feb. 6, 1945.

After his performance at Laverne’s, Ky-Mani Marley will head to Oahu on Feb. 8 to perform at the Pure Nightclub and then on to the Lahaina Civic Center on Maui on Feb. 9. The Lahaina Civic Center performance is commemorative to Bob Marley’s 40th anniversary since he played there last.

Doors to the Laverne’s show open at 7 p.m. Special, limited VIP and general admission tickets are available now at Humpy’s, on Alii Drive and next to Laverne’s, and www.eventbrite.com. Tickets range from $50 to $100. The performance is for those 21 and older.
