Gilbert Motta III

Gilbert “G.p.” Perry Motta, III, 40 of Kailua-Kona, died Dec. 14, 2018, in Kailua-Kona. Born in Ahualoa, Nov. 7, 1978, he was the business owner of Motta Heating and Air Conditioning Services and owned Da Motta Shak.

Celebration of life at noon, Feb. 16 in Waipio Valley, where the river meets the ocean. Casual attire.

He is survived by his fiancee, Amara Desseaux of Kailua-Kona; son, Dayson Jae Motta of Cottonwood, Ariz.; daughters, Jayda Dallon Motta of Cottonwood, and Alahna Marie Rose of Greeley, Colo.; father, Gilbert Perry Motta Jr. of Walsenburg, Colo.; mother, Janice Galarneau of Cottonwood; sisters, Christine Dryer of Hawi; Julie (Heath) Smith of Austin, Raylia (Eddie) Carrillo of Cottonwood, Jaysi Motta of Colorado Springs, Shayne Gallagher of Sequim, Wash., Shawna (Shawn) Helgeson of Prescott Valley, Ariz., Shelly (Anthony) Wamar of Kurtistown; numerous aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Guy Higa

Guy Kazuo Higa, 67, of Mountain View, died Jan. 16, 2019, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama in Hilo. Born in Honolulu Dec. 31, 1951, he was a retired ti leaf farmer.

Visitation at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo 3:30-5 p.m. Feb. 15; celebration of life at 5 p.m. Casual attire is requested. No flowers.

He is survived by wife, Janice U. Higa of Mountain View; sons, Guy Dias of Laie, Grant (Michelle) Higa of Maple Valley, Wash., Guy Higa, Jr. of Waimanalo, and Chia (Jennifer) Higa of Waimanalo; daughters, Odessa (Kaena) Kawai of Bremerton, Wash., Oraca Kaopuiki of Waimanalo, Oveena (Gabriel) Higa of Waimanalo and Kami Higa of Bremerton; three sisters; one brother; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Margaret Royce

Margaret Winifred Royce, 89, of Holualoa, died Feb. 2, 2019 in Hospice care. Born July 27, 1929, she was a medical office manager.

Private services will be held.

Survived by daughters, Claudia (Jack Kerr) Christian of Puuanahulu, and Lisa (Dean) Weinberger of Kewaskum, Wis.; sons, Craig Christian of San Clemente, Calif., Mark Royce of Golden, Colo., Robert (Kerrie) Royce of Mystic, Conn., David (Roxie) Royce of Captain Cook,; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
