KAILUA-KONA — The Hawaii County Department of Water Supply on Wednesday canceled the emergency water restriction for Honokaa, Haina, Paauhau, Ahualoa, Kapulena, Kalopa, Pohakea Mauka and Kukuihaele.
DWS issued the restriction earlier this week due to an electrical outage and fallen trees resulting from a winter storm over a windy weekend across Hawaii Island.
The storm resulted in water restrictions to other areas, including Paauilo, as well as power loss for tens of thousands of island residents over its duration and in its aftermath.
