KAILUA-KONA — Military units will convoy between Kawaihae Harbor and Pohakuloa Training Area through Feb. 21.

The soldiers will be traveling from the South Kohala harbor to the military training area situated in the saddle between Mauna Loa and Maunakea from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday through Feb. 21.

Convoys use the Akoni Pule Corridor, Queen Kaahumanu Highway, Waikoloa Road, Mamalahoa Highway and Daniel K. Inouye Highway, according to the U.S. Army Garrison-PTA.

The changes and new times are due the recent weather and delays departing from Oahu, the Army said.

Hawaii Island motorists are advised to be aware of the multi-vehicle convoys that are often traveling at slower than normal speeds.
