Allen Vincent

Allen Archie Vincent, 85, of Waikoloa, died Jan. 24, 2019, in Hilo. He was born and raised on the island of Oahu, served in the Korean War, worked in construction and auto body, and retired in 2011 from the engineering department at Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. March 9 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Waikoloa.

Survived by spouse, Martha Vincent; daughters, Terryanne (Daniel) Ireland of Waikoloa; Cindy (Peter) Madix of Washington; son, Casey Anderson of Waikoloa; brothers, Frank Vincent of Honolulu; Herman (Sharon) Vincent of Washington; Victor (Cindy) Vincent of Idaho; sisters, Betty (Phil) Stephan of Idaho; Bernadette Vincent of Idaho; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services by Ballard Family Mortuary-Kona.

Emiko Enriquez

Emiko Enriquez, 92, of Hilo, died Feb. 10, 2019, at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Hospice Facility. Born in Tsingtao, China, she was a retired secretary and interpreter for the U.S. Army and a homemaker.

Private services held.

Survived by daughter, Naomi (Tom) Enriquez-Soraoka of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sister, Ruriko Matsuo of Japan; two granddaughters; numerous nieces and nephews.

Ronald Kawada

Ronald Hideo Kawada, 77, of Hilo, died Feb. 9, 2019 in the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Facility in Hilo. He was born in Honolulu Dec. 31, 1941, and was retired from Longs Drugs Stores in Hilo as an assistant store manager.

Visitation will be held at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo March 1 from 4-5 p.m.; memorial service will begin at 5 p.m. Casual attire.

Survived by wife, Toni Sakai-Kawada of Hilo; sons, Brian (Michele Takeuchi) Kawada of Honolulu, Michael Kawada of Honolulu, Francis Sakai-Kawada of Hilo and Keagan Sakai-Kawada of New York; daughter, Kim (Frank Ternasky) Kawada of San Diego, Catherine (Ken Barrow) Kawada of Honolulu and Dawn (Peter) Tsukazaki of Honolulu; sisters, Frances Mineshima of Honolulu, Arlene (George) Hayashi of Honolulu, Jeanette (Satong) Saewong of Honolulu and Patricia Jamieson of Honolulu; mother-in-law; four grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Flora Solomon

Flora “Tita” Leiomalama Desha Beamer Solomon, 92, of Waimea, died Feb. 8, 2019, at home. Born Sept. 5, 1926, in Honolulu, she was the owner and the Loea Kumu Hula of the former Beamer Solomon Hula Arts, the Hawaii Island Aloha Week Manager, served on the first Merry Monarch Hula Festival Committee and was a member of Haili Congregational Church.

Visitation will be held 9-10 a.m. March 9 at Imiola Congregational Church, Waimea. Celebration of life at 10 a.m. Aloha attire.

Survived by husband, Randolph F. Solomon, Sr. of Waimea; daughters, Malama Solomon of Waimea, former State Senator and Hulali (Robert Covington) Solomon Covington of Waimea; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
