Tassie Torres

Tassie Jean Torres, 44, of Ocean View, died Jan. 19, 2019, at home. Born Nov. 13, 1974, she worked with handicapped services to package items for commercial use.

Funeral services were held.

Survived by mother, Raynette (Calvin) Udac of Ocean View; father, Gary (Kaylene) Torres of Honokaa; brothers, Gary (Bobby Jo Perez) Torres Jr. of Honokaa, Dustin Jose of Kailua-Kona, Troy Jose of Kailua-Kona, Amy Jose of Oregon, Allan Jose of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Selina (Wes Demotta) Medeiros of Honokaa, Jennifer (Pono Amasi) Medeiros of Oahu; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Fumie Vasquez

Fumie Matsumoto Vasquez, 108, of Papaaloa, died Feb. 13, 2019, at a care home in Keaau. Born Nov. 14, 1910, in Ookala, she was a seamstress for the former Vasquez Tailor Shop and homemaker.

Private services.

Survived by sons, Toshiyuki (Barbara) Yamasaka of Honolulu, Robert (Diane) Vasquez of Tucson, Ariz., Dennis Vasquez of Apple Valley, Calif.; daughters, Sumie (Ronald) Fairburn of Grovetown, Ga., Yukie Kent of Madras, Ore.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Marion Lagapa

Marion Michiko Lagapa, 80, of Kealakekua, died Sept. 10, 2018, at the Kona Community Hospital. Born in Papaikou, Hawaii on July 1, 1938, she was a supervisor at the former Kona Krafts. She was a primary caregiver for the disabled, respite care and a coffee farmer.

A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 2 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona on Alii Drive. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

Survived by daughter, Lezlie (Delbert Wheaton) Lagapa of Las Vegas; sons, Wesley Lagapa of Honalo, and Lance (Tabbatha) Lagapa of Honokaa; brother, Bert China of Oregon; sisters, Karen China of California and Sharon Asato of Oahu; four granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ronald Smith

Ronald E. Smith, 75, of Kailua-Kona, died Feb. 12, 2019, at Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born Dec. 10, 1943, in Florida, he was a retired carpenter, a woodworker, surfer, cobalt glass and sea glass collector, member of Hawaii Carpenters Union Local 745 and St. Michael’s Church, and he was a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran.

Private services.

He is survived by wife, Sharon Smith of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Melanie (Joel) Hunger of Oregon, Ashley Smith of Kailua-Kona; brother, Roger (Michele) Smith of California; a granddaughter,; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
