Clifford Pascual

Clifford Kekua Pascual, 63, of Mountain View, died Jan. 24, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Dec. 2, 1955, he was a self-employed construction worker/supervisor.

Private services held.

He is survived by brothers, Larry (Jean) Pascual of Texas, John (Edith) Pascual of Mountain View, Michael Carriaga Pascual of Ocean View, and Derwin Pascual of Hilo; sister, Deborah Pascual of Hilo; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Bernard Kuamoo

Bernard Kuamoo, Sr., 68, of Mililani and formerly of Hilo died Feb. 12, 2019, at his residence. Born in Hilo, he was a retired adult correctional officer from the Department of Public Safety (OCCC) and served as a deacon for the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Hilo Seventh-Day Adventist Church with service at 7 p.m. Friends may call again 9-10 a.m. Feb. 28 at the Hilo Seventh-Day Adventist Church; service at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire.

He is survived by wife, Theola L. Kuamoo of Mililani; son, Bernard (Mika H.) Kuamoo, Jr. of Ewa Beach; daughters, Kimberlyn (Peter Pavao, III) K. Kuamoo-Pavao of Mililani, Chardunais L. Kuamoo of Mililani; sisters, Diane Kuamoo Horton of Pahoa, Nalani Ferreira Miller of Seattle; brother, Gaylord Kuamoo of San Diego; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Messiah Puckett

Messiah Agape Puckett, stillborn boy, of Waimea, died Feb. 14, 2019, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Private services will be held at a later date.

She is survived by parents, Darin and Kehau Puckett of Waimea; sisters, Xyahnea Liborio-Hanks of Waimea, Hosanna Liborio-Puckett of Waimea and Anaya-Rose Liborio-Puckett of Waimea; brother, Xavier Puckett of Maui; grandparents, Brian and Rhonda Liborio of Waimea, Ronald Puckett of Tennessee and Beverly Lashley of Maui; great-grandparents, Rally Tolentino of Waimea, Alice Puckett of Tennessee and Marie Zarella of Maui; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Sue Littlejohn

Sue Ann Conant Littlejohn, 91, of Volcano, died Feb. 5, 2019, at home. Born in Hanalei, Kauai on Oct. 23, 1927, she was a retired associate of the Hawaii Heart Association, and was involved in Alu Like program in Pahoa, and the Red Hat Society.

Yasue Ichinotsubo

Mrs. Yasue Ichinotsubo, 91, of Hilo, died Dec. 17, 2018, at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. She was born in Pahoa on June 19, 1927, and was retired from the former Pick &Pay Supermarket in Hilo as an office clerk. She was a member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin.

Private services held. No flowers. No koden.

She is survived by sisters, Yukie Sakai of Honolulu, Kikuko (Toshio) Ushijima of Holualoa, Dorothy (Takaaki) Izumi of Honolulu and Janet (Hardy) Iida of Hilo; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Roland Doi

Mr. Roland Fumio Doi, 68, of Honokaa, died Dec. 8, 2018, in Pampanga, Mabalacat City, Philippine Islands. Born in Honokaa on Feb. 25, 1950, he worked as a supervisor for the Hamakua Sugar Company until it ceased operations in 1994. He subsequently worked as the assistant superintendent at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel golf course until his retirement. He was a member of the Hamakua Jodo Mission and served on their board of directors as the treasurer.

Visitation will be held at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo from 10-11 a.m. March 2. Memorial service begins at 11 a.m. Casual attire is requested. No flowers.

He is survived by brother, Sidney H. Doi of Honolulu; one sister-in-law; one nephew.

Yolanda Miura

Yolanda Joyce Miura, 66, of Papaikou, died Feb. 17 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born on Sept. 3, 1952, in Hilo, she was a homemaker and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou.

Visitation will held from 4-5 p.m. Feb. 28 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo. Prayer service is at 5 p.m.; cremation to follow. Casual attire.

She is survived by son, William Miura, Jr. of Papaikou; daughter, Janeen Miura of Papaikou; brothers, Gerald (Margie) Abiley of Hilo and Lawrence Abiley of Honolulu, Oahu; sisters, Phyllis (Joe) Desalla of Papaikou and Miranda Abiley of Lima, Ohio; one grandson; granddaughters, Namaiya Miura-Jenette, Taysha Miura and Kailah Miura-Jenette; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lorraine Thompson

Lorraine Josephine Duarte Thompson, 80, of Hilo, died Feb. 9, 2019, at Hawaii Health Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. She was born in Holualoa and was a graduate of UH Manoa and was a retired elementary school teacher in California and Kona.

Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. March 4 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Holualoa. Service begins at 10 a.m. Urn burial to follow at the Kona Memorial Park. Family requests aloha attire. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hawaii Care Choices Care Center.

Cathy Kaneo

Cathy Ann Kaneo, 65 of Kailua-Kona, died Feb. 16, 2019, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born Sept. 22, 1953 in Spokane Wash., she was a cashier and safety coordinator at Costco, Girl Scouts team leader, and church Catechism teacher.

A celebration of life will be 2 p.m. March 23 at Wawaloli Beach (OTEC).

She is survived by daughters, Lehua Kaneo (Kurt Yotsuya) of Wailuku, Maui, Jennifer (Kahakai) Souza of Kailua-Kona; father, Thomas (Betty) Wicksted of Rocklin, Calif.; brother, Michael (Robin) Wicksted of Newberg, Ore.; sister, Janet Vorwerck of Elk Grove,Calif.; five grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Benigno Lagat

Benigno “Papa” “Tata Ben” Lagat, 94, of Papaikou, died Jan. 25, 2019, at residence, born on Feb. 13, 1924, in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for Hilo Coast Processing Company and he also was a member of the Hawaii Island Adult Care, Inc. and Immaculate Heart Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou.

Friends may call 6-9 p.m. March 7 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo for a 7 p.m. wake service. Friends may call again 8:30-9:30 a.m. March 8 at Immaculate Heart Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou for a 10 a.m. celebration of Mass. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section).

He is survived by sons, Francis (LaDonna) Lagat of Wichita Falls, Texas, Maurice (Sandy) Lagat of Lorena, Texas and Paul (Leelynn) Lagat of Keaau; daughters, Inez (Mark) Johnson of Papaikou and Carla Lagat (Ely) Ramos of Honolulu; one daughter in-law; brother, Rosalio Lagat of Philippines; sister, Anecita Lagat of Philippines; four sisters-in-law; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Don Medeiros

Don “Uncle Donny” Gabral Medeiros, 61 of Mountain View, died Jan. 23, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. He was born on Nov. 16, 1957, in Honolulu.

Family and friends will be notified of Don’s memorial by his family.
