Lions Club health fair
The fifth annual Lions Club of Kona South Kona Community Health Fair takes place 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Konawaena Elementary School’s cafeteria. More than 30 organizations bring free health and wellness services for everyone, including screenings for blood pressure and diabetes, hearing and vision checks, family ID services, homeownership, therapy ponies, independent living, and much more.

Lions Club scholarships
The Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation is offering four $1,000 scholarships for four-year post-secondary programs, and two $500 scholarships for two-year degrees or certificate programs, to graduating seniors at Konawaena High School. Applications available at the offices of Ms.

Big Island Press Club scholarships
The Big Island Press Club announces its 2019 scholarships for students pursuing higher education in journalism and related careers. To qualify applicants must have Big Island residential ties, demonstrate an interest in journalism or related career, be enrolled as a full-time student and show a record of academic achievement.
Applications must be postmarked by April 1; announcement of winners will be at the BIPC annual Scholarship dinner to be held in early May. Applications are available at the BIPC website: http://www.bigislandpressclub.org/scholarships.
