Ann Wolfe

Ann Millar Wolfe, 90, of Hilo, died March 5, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born March 10, 1928, in Santa Barbara, California, she was a retired medical transcriber.

Survived by sons, Rodney Wolfe of Sacramento, Calif. and Ralph (Penny) Wolfe of Lompoc, Calif.; daughter, Marian Williams of Naples, Fla.; a daughter-in-law; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Caroline Blakley

Caroline Cortez Blakley, 70, of Hilo, died Feb. 25, 2019, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born Aug. 30, 1948, in Hilo, she was a homemaker.

Celebration of life March 30 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo. Friends may call at 9 a.m. for a 10 a.m. service.

Survived by sons, Joseph (Tashanna L.K.) Cortez of Hilo, Frank (Lisa) Rios Jr. of Pahoa; daughters, Elesia (Michael) Medeiros of Mountain View, Andrea (Noah Serrano) Cortez of Pahoa; siblings, Evelyn (Patrick) Nobriga, Benjamin Cortez Jr., Susan Gattis, Sandra (Johnito) Santos; 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.

Hiroshi Ota

Hiroshi Ota, 85, of Hilo, died March 9, 2019, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born Dec. 5, 1933, in Hilo, he was a retired accountant for Automotive Supply Center, also retired from the Hawaii Army National Guard, was a U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran, and member of Big Island National Guard Retirees Association, Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Kyodan and Hoyukai, Piihonua Community Association, East Hawaii Hiroshima Kenjin Kai, Japanese Community Association and a former Film Club member.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. March 30 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 5 p.m. service. Casual attire.

Survived by wife, Shizuho Ota of Hilo; sons, Terence (Karen) Ota, Leslie (Julie) Ota and Craig (Bridget Dias) Ota of Hilo; brothers, Satoshi Ota and Charles (Gladys) Ota of Hilo; sisters, Yukie Kunihiro, Ruth (Robert) Ouye and Lorraine (Gordon) Hashimoto of Hilo, Dorothy (James) Burton of Puna; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Yoshiko Shimada

Yoshiko Shimada, 95, of Hilo, died Feb. 24, 2019, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Aug. 6, 1923, in Hilo, she was a retired manager for the former Kaiko’o Coin Laundry.

Private services were held.

Survived by son, Elvin Shimada; grandsons, Jason Shimada, Casey Shimada; numerous nieces and nephews.

Juan Andrada

Juan Balagot Andrada, 74, of Hilo, died March 17, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center, born in Urdaneta, Pangasinan, Philippines, he was a former agriculture research field technician at Mauna Kea Sugar Co. and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

Friends may call March 28 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, visitation 5-9 p.m. with wake service at 6 p.m. Friends may call on March 29 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo, visitation from 9-10:30 a.m.; celebration of Mass at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire and flowers are welcomed; burial at Homelani Memorial Park.

Survived by spouse, Erlinda Andrada of Hilo; sister, Virgilia (Manuel) Caoagdan-Sanchez of Hilo; brother, Ben (Francine) Andrada of Hilo; three brothers in-law; a sister-in-law; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, great-grand-nieces and great-grandnephews.
