We know how suspect search ends

Why is the police department spending so much time, effort and money trying to catch this Gomes character? We all know how this will end. They will eventually nab him, he’ll get a slick defense attorney, they’ll clean him up, he’ll get a decent haircut, cry in court and then some bleeding heart judge will let him off with time served and two months probation.

That’s after the prosecutor’s office has offered him three months in jail and three months probation, on a reduced charge of jaywalking.

Save our tax dollars, earn some income by citing red-light runners.

Oh wait, same applies to them. Never mind.

Thanks, I guess?

So the Department of Health has closed down the Ookala Dairy. A nice big step backward from food self-sufficiency and decent jobs for those living in our more rural areas.

I’ve read about the numerous citations and fines, but what I would like to know is what steps were taken to work with the dairy operators to mitigate the problems?

Waste drop off a time waste

Today March 29, my wife and I spent four hours trimming on our property. We loaded my Chevy long bed with a camper shell to the top. I drove to the green waste at 11:45 a.m. to unload it and was told by the security guard we cannot dump today.

I looked in the bin and it was three quarters full. I asked if I could just dump the full load and he said not today. He said they do not have anyone to empty the trailer. It is a work day and they had to only work four days this week because Tuesday, the 26th, was Prince Kuhio day and the green waste was closed. There was no notification in the paper that the green waste was not going to be operating.

This isn’t the first time that this has happened — not only my time was wasted not to mention the gasoline.

Dairy disaster could get worse

Too bad for Big Island Dairy closing and too bad for the people of the Big Island. Now our milk will be flown here instead of grown here.

So far, the New Green Deal does not look like it is going to happen. But watch out for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, she will come up with another idea to end air travel because as she put it, they put out the most carbon dioxide.

Our milk will be sour by the time it arrives on the barge. Maybe we will have to switch to powdered milk. But then again, you have to add water to that, so hope that the water pumps keep working.
