Space Club of Makua Lani takes grand prize

The Space Club of Makua Lani Christian Academy has won the Grand Prize in the NSS Space Settlement Contest, beating 12,888 other students and 2,690 other teams. The competition is worldwide and included highly-competitive mathematical and technical schools from India, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Turkey, Bulgaria, and Romania.

Although there are many First Prize winners, there is only one Grand Prize — a paid trip to present their project at the Gala Dinner at the International Space Development Conference this June in Washington, D.C. This is a first for a Makua Lani team and a first for the State of Hawaii.

All 11 team members of AeroSpace Meridian are attending ISDC2019. Please consider donating to this cause at their online gofundme account, https://www.gofundme.com/space-station-design-winning-students-attend-isdc.
