Barbara Foster
Barbara J. Foster, 88, of Hilo, died April 15, 2019, in Hilo. Born on Feb. 16, 1931, in Sturgis, Mich., she was a retired school teacher and she also was a member of the Hilo Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Friends may call 5-6 p.m. April 28 at the Hilo Seventh-day Adventist Church. Service begins at 6 p.m. Friends may call again 9:30-10:30 a.m. April 29 at the Hilo Seventh-day Adventist Church. Funeral Service is at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire and no flowers; burial at Homelani Memorial Park (Lehua Section).
She was preceded in death by husband, Clarence Foster and son, Nelson Foster.
She is survived sons, Kelvin (Kim) Foster of Clearwater, Fla., Melvin Foster of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Clarence Bruce Foster of Hilo; brother, Robert (Judy) Maxson of Nicaragua; one granddaughter.

Danielle Scudder
Danielle Scudder, 74, of Laupahoehoe, died April 4, 2019, in Hawaii. Born in San Francisco, she was a radiological technologist, nuclear medicine technologist and a bone densitometry technologist. After moving to Hawaii, Danielle worked at Hilo Hospital, North Hawaii Community Hospital and Hawaii Radiological Associates. She then worked for Dr. Lyn Lam and Dr. John Dawson as a bone densitometry technologist.
Private services and burial to be held in Seattle at a later date.
She is survived by friend, Karen Heidenfeldt of Laupahoehoe; nephew, Emanuel Rodriguez of Seattle.

Sarapio Dellipou
Sarapio Dellipou, 66, of Keaau, died March 21, 2019, at the Queen’s Medical Center. He was born in Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia, and was a carpenter and a member of the Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Visitation from 2 p.m. April 26 at the Dellipou residence, Paradise Park, Keaau, until 8 a.m. April 27. For residence location please call Thomas Sorcy at 854-1060. Mass at 9 a.m. April 27 at the Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Alae Cemetery in Hilo. Casual attire, no flowers.
He is survived by sons, David Dellipou and George Dellipou of Honolulu; stepson, Rommu Dellipou of Honolulu; daughters, Ansinia (Maruo) Alonzo, Pastora Dellipou and Cincerella (Jessie) Takashi of Honolulu; brothers, Bart (Erlyn) Mwarey of Alaska, Leo (Mariana) Tillipau, Kermin Tillipau, Conzakan (Toni) Sorcy and James (Etta) Avey of Hilo; sisters, Maria (Solan) Kaneki, Mariata (Hunter) Apong, Ailin Tillipau and Merlin Tillipau of Hilo, Tersi Faruk and Mariana (Lou) Tillipau of Honolulu; numerous grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

John Gerkensmeyer
John Leonard Gerkensmeyer, 67, of Pahoa died April 13, 2019, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Redwood City, Calif., he was a cabinet maker and an avid musician.

He is survived by wife, Diana Gerkensmeyer of Pahoa; sons, Benjamin (Rachael) Gerkensmeyer of Ocean View, Kelly Gerkensmeyer of Arnold, California, Sean Gerkensmeyer of Sacramento, Calif.; Michael Gerkensmeyer of Portland, Ore.; eight grandchildren, two sisters, three brothers, numerous nieces and nephews.

Noble Kahumoku
Mr. Noble Ka’ohu Kahumoku, 80, of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, died April 14, 2019, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kona on Aug. 28, 1938, he was a security officer at the Kona police station. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
Visitation will be held at 8:30 a.m. May 3 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kailua-Kona. Memorial service will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by interment with military honors at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Kailua-Kona. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.
He is survived by his wife, Latu Kahumoku of Kona; daughters, Pielina Mafoa Tesi, Ekelike Tesi, Selaima Tesi and Uini (Patrick) Braz, all of Kona; sisters, Lorraine Roberts and Angeline Seemater; stepbrother, William Dunaway; stepsister, Constance Dunaway; 10 grandchildren.

Mitsuko Isono
Mitsuko “Mitsi” Isono, 91, of Hilo, died April 17, 2019, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born April 5, 1928, in Papaaloa, she was retired from Marriott International Food Service at University of Hawaii at Hilo.
Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.
She is survived by husband, Taichi Isono of Hilo; children, Lynn (Stefan) Kelemen of Claremont, Calif., Myrna Mizer of Yorba Linda, Calif., Cindy (Clyde) Sakoda of Hilo, Randall (Jackie) Isono of San Diego; brothers, Takio Shitabata of Honolulu, Albert Itsuo (Aileen) Shitabata of Hilo, Earl (Marian) Shitabata of Kailua, Oahu; sisters, Mildred Eiko (Fred) Endo of Gardena, Calif., June Shitabata of Honolulu; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
