Thomas Chang

Thomas “Tommy” Kaluna Chang, 77, of Hilo, died April 17, 2019, at home. He was born in Honolulu and was a heavy equipment operator with Hawaiian Dredging and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Visitation will be 8:30-9:30 a.m. April 30 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Memorial Mass at 10 a.m., followed by urn committal services at the Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire.

He is survived by wife, Alicia “Tiny” Chang of Hilo; daughters, Tammy K. (Melvin “Abu”) Yamamoto of Honolulu, Tanya K. “Keawe” (Jack Freitas) Chang of Kula and Tracy K. (Scott) Weidie of Kailua, Oahu; mother, Audrey Chang of Honolulu; brothers, Winfield (David Carlson) Chang of Kona, Bruce (Rachel) Chang of Maui and Sanford (Margo) Chang of Mountain View; four sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Rally Tolentino

Mr. Rally Tolentino, 84, of Waimea, died, March 23, 2019, at his residence. Born in Kamuela on June 3, 1934, he was a retired truck driver for the State of Hawaii, Highway Division. He worked as a fence line worker for Parker Ranch. He was a volleyball coach for Parks &Recreation Waimea, and a member of Puukapu Kupuna and also Waimea Paniolo Softball.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. May 4 at the family’s residence at 64-5070 Hale Alii St. in Waimea. Celebration of life will begin at 11 a.m. with luncheon to follow. For further information please contact Rhonda Liborio at 885-4909. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

He is survived by his sons, Ralenton (Lou-Ann) Tolentino of Hilo, Raynard (Evan) Tolentino of Kohala; daughters, Racal (Carl Martinez) Kawaauhau of California, and Rhonda (Brian) Liborio of Kamuela; sister, Ethel Cariaga of Hilo; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Bernard Silva

Bernard Albert Silva, 90, of Mountain View, died on April 11, 2019, at home. He was born on Nov. 14, 1928, in Pahala. He was a retired welder for the former Hilo Coast Processing Company and member of The House Hilo.

He is survived by wife, Elizabeth Silva of Mountain View; sons, Phillip (Valerie) Silva of Mountain View and James Silva of Mountain View; sister, Loretta Lorenzo of Pahala; two sisters-in-law; nine grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Edward Rosario

Edward “Eddie” Rosario, 73, of Ocean View, died April 12, 2019, at Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born Aug. 10, 1945, in Kealakekua, he was a retired platform driller, heavy equipment operator, fisherman and musician.

A celebration of life will be held 1 p.m. May 5 at Makaeo Events Pavilion at Old Kona Airport. Service is at 2 p.m. Food and fellowship to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice of Kona, P.O. Box 4130, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96745. For information call (808) 936-2869.
