Brenda Leimomi Kahiwa, 66, of Captain Cook, died April 21, 2019 at Kona Community Hospital. Born Jan. 3, 1953, in Kealakekua, she was a homemaker, hula dancer and former bank teller for Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union.

Crayton Eleneki
Crayton Kapi’ookeanuenue Eleneki, 53, of Hawaiian Acres, died May 8, 2019, in Hilo. He was born in November of 1965.
A celebration of life will be held May 18 at 362 Laua’e Yung Avenue in Hilo with a service at 11 a.m. and a lunch at 12:30 p.m. A second celebration of life will be held May 26, oceanside, below the Maluhia Church on Lower Waiehu Beach Road in Wailuku, Maui.

Charles Green
Charles “Chuck” Noel Green, Jr., 61, of Ocean View, died April 25, 2019, at his residence. Born August 16, 1957, in Portsmouth, Virginia, he was a carpenter and a jack of all trades.

Joseph Pavao
Joseph Stanley Pavao, Sr., 82, of Pepeekeo, died May 8, 2019, at the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired warehouse supply clerk with the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. May 22 at the Dodo Mortuary chapel. Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m., followed by cremation. Friends may also call 9 a.m. May 24 at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 Columbarium for urn committal services. Casual attire is requested.

Raymond Estrella
Raymond Frank Estrella, Sr., 92, of Hilo died May 5, 2019, at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired office clerk for the County of Hawaii South Hilo Road Department, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Our Mother of Perpetual Help Novena, Pu’u Wai O Pio Senior Baseball Team and a veteran and corporal with the U.S. Army during World War II and receiving the World War II Victory Medal and Philippines Independence Metal.

Theresa Elizabeth Shattuck, 69 of Keaau, died May 7, 2019, at home. Born on November 16, 1949, she was an underwriting manager at a mortgage firm.

Barbara Schmidt
Barbara Lumbra Schmidt, 91, of Waikoloa, died May 11, 2019, at her residence. Born May 22, 1927, in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, she was a music teacher and an accomplished pianist and vocalist. She also served as choir director, organist and pianist for numerous churches and community organizations.

DonDon Juan Lopez, 38, of Kailua-Kona, died April 10, 2019, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Centro 1, Angadanan Isabella, Philippines, on May 30, 1980, he was a valet attendant at the Four Seasons Resort. He was a produce manager at Sack and Save and a food prep at Shimaichi Japanese Restaurant.
Visitation will be held at 4 p.m. May 28 at the Old A big pavilion in Kailua-Kona; funeral service begins at 6 p.m. An all-night vigil will follow at the family’s residence at 74-5154 Puuhale St. in Kailua-Kona. Burial will be held at Kona Memorial Park on May 29. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.
He is survived by his companion, Arrianne Zarragosa of Las Vegas; daughter, Dawn Lopez of Utah; son, Clint Garcia of California; parents, Esther Juan Lopez and Mike King of Kailua-Kona; brothers. Jacob Keanaoalohaikuupoli Batalona, Sr., 79, of Honokaa, died May 4, 2019, at Hale Hoola Hamakua Hospital. Born in Hawaii on July 27, 1940, he worked as a taro farmer in Waipio Valley
Services to be held at Church of the Latter-day Saints in Honokaa on May 21. Visitation from 9-10 a.m., services at 10 a.m. Burial at noon at Kukuihaele Cemetery. Luncheon to follow back at the church.
