Juliana Galapon
Juliana Ramoran Galapon, 86, of Keaau, died April 27, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Jan. 8, 1933, in Luna, Isabela, Philippines, she was a former nursery worker.
Visitation will be held from 8:30-9:30 a.m. on May 24 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou. Funeral Mass is at 10 a.m., burial to follow at Alae Cemetery. Casual attire is requested.
She is survived by daughters, Norma Bolosan of Papaaloa, Zenaida Agngarayngay of Keaau, Mildred (Pedrito) Mercado of Maui, Carol (Francisco) Mangoba of Papaaloa and Rowena (Nathan) Takiguchi of Hilo; son, Ruben (Marites) Galapon of Keaau; sisters, Gregoria Magaoay of the Philippines and Natividad (Marcelino) Galutera of the Philippines; one sister-in-law; one brother-in-law; 23 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

Dolly Jo Wong
Dolly Jo Sayre Wong, “Tutu Lady,” died May 7, 2019. Born Nov. 11, 1928, in Coalgate, Okla., she was one of three sets of twins born to the family. Her career in nursing started at a young age she started working at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston as an independent private nurse and then later held an administrative nursing position at Palm Springs Hospital. She led the nurses at Maui Memorial Hospital as their director of nursing, a position she held for many years until her retirement. After the loss of her husband, she moved to Pahoa.
A celebration of life will be held on Hawaii Island and on Maui. On Hawaii Island it will be 1 p.m. May 25 at Hilo Methodist Church. Maui’s service will be 2 p.m. June 1 at Ala Lani Methodist Church in Kahului.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Wong.
She is survived by children, Gary “Kid” Sayre, Cindy Spencer, Kathy Lee Sayre, and Kalei Wong; sibling and WW II veteran, Clarence Sprague; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and family and friends all over the world.

Clara Ichiriu
Clara Hanako Ichiriu, 90, of Keaau, died May 8, 2019, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born Feb. 2, 1929, in Honolulu, she was a retired salesperson and member of Kurtistown Jodo Mission.
Private services were held.
She is survived by husband, Reynold Ichiriu of Keaau; son, Alan Ichiriu of Los Angeles; daughters, Dayle (Alfred) Tsuha of Kurtistown, Teri (Myles Ibara) Ichiriu of Honolulu; six grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Helen Kamalii
Helen Kalolina Kamalii, 76, of Hilo, died on Monday, May 6, 2019, at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born on Feb. 12, 1943, in Naalehu, she was a homemaker and member of Zions House of Praise Holiness Church.
A celebration of life will be held from 10 a.m. to noon May 25 at Kurtistown Assembly of God, 17-550 Volcano Highway, Kurtistown. Casual attire.
She is survived by companion, Gary Nakagawa; children, Ernest (Laura) Balai, Jr., Erlinda Martinez, Manuel (Laura) Balai and Aaron (Kahea) Balai; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Reid Kepaa
Reid Kepaa, 62, of Hilo, died March 28, 2019, in Hilo. Born in Hilo in September of 1956, he was formerly in the Army National Guard.

He is survived by his two sisters, Noelani Kepaa of Pepeekeo and Leihua Luhiau of Hilo; two brothers, William Kahele of Oahu and Harry Kepaa of New York; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Patricia Pampo
Patricia V. Pampo, 78, died at her son’s home on April, 19, 2019, in Oxnard, Calif. Born March 13, 1941, in Bacolod City Negros Occidental, Philippines, she moved to Hawaii in 1966 where she married Clemente Pampo. She lived in Hawaii for over 50 years and worked in various jobs, including working and retiring from Whaler’s General Store (Food Pantry) in Waikoloa. She was also a certified tax preparer and her greatest joy was spending time with each of her grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned to be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. Details to follow.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clemente Pampo, and parents.
She is survived by sister, Jean Santander of Honokaa; son, Patrick A. Pampo (Ana) and seven grandchildren; daughters, Shirley A.P. Hirayama (Bryce) of Hillsboro, Ore.; Jadelyn T. Pampo (Ziad “Ziggy” Ibrahim); sisters, Edda Santander of Manilla, Philippines; Doris Campit (Joey) of Manilla, Philippines; seven grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
