KAILUA-KONA — A fundraising page has been established to help the family of fallen Hawaii Fire Department Capt. David Mahon.

The GoFundMe page “Dylan’s Future Fund — In Loving Memory of Dave Mahon” was set up Friday afternoon, friends and family confirmed. It seeks funds to support Mahon’s son, Dylan, in the future.

“Dylan, Dave’s 10-year old son, was the love of his life. Dave would be honored knowing that his friends and family will continue to support, guide, and love Dylan. Education was important to Dave. He had Dylan’s future in mind and wanted him to go to college,” the page’s story reads. “Please consider contributing to Dylan’s Future Fund.”

Within just four hours, $900 had been raised toward the $25,000 goal.
