Kenny Loggins headlines Hapuna show

Join music lovers in the Hapuna Ballroom for an intimate, unforgettable night of stripped-down performances by several top hit songwriters.

The “Hit Makers” concert at 7 p.m. Saturday at Westin Hapuna Beach Resort features a night of stripped-down performances by several top hit songwriters, culminating with a performance by special guest Kenny Loggins as well as featuring mainland guests and local favorites Streetlight Cadence, John Cruz, and Henry Kapono.

Dr. Tim at the Mango Festival

Dr. Tim’s Medicine Band will be headlining the Mango Festival from 2-4 p.m. at Hale Halawi in Kailua Village. The free annual festival runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Kohala bon dance festivities planned

The Kohala Hongwanji Mission will be holding its annual obon services and bon dance July 6.

The obon service honors ancestors and the public is welcome to all events. Bon dance practices are at 7 p.m. July 2 and 3.

On July 6, the graveyard service is at 5 p.m. at the Keokea Cemetery. The Hatsubon service is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Kohala Hongwanji Mission, with a dance to follow, 54-4300 Akoni Pule Highway in Kapaau.
