Doreen Namahoe

Doreen Namahoe, 74, of Hilo, died June 9, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker.

Friends may call 9-10 a.m. July 5 at Dodo Mortuary chapel; funeral service at 10. Burial will follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.

She is survived by husband, James Namahoe of Hilo; daughters, Jaymie (Felipe) Caoili of San Jose, California, Christine (Noel) Namahoe-Loo of Hilo, Une Namahoe of Hilo, Uilani (Karen) Jerrils-Gomez of Keaau; brothers, Everett Lawrence of Virginia, Frank (Claudia) Lawrence of Mountain View, Patrick (Phyllis) Lawrence Sr. of Honomu; sister, Kathleen Ke of Kau; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Richard You Fai Hee

Richard You Fai Hee, 92, of Kailua-Kona, HI passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019. He was born and raised on Oahu.

Private services were held.

He is survived by wife, Gene Tsugiko Hee; sons, Aaron (Kathleen) Hee and Jonathan (Tiare) Hee; daughter, Naomi (Dave) Peterson; brother, Howard (Audrey) Hee; sister, Fanny Wong; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Martha Sarme

Martha Kuuleialoha Sarme, 90, of Waimea, died June 13, 2019, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born May 13, 1929, in Honolulu, she was a retired bus/waitress at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, member of the Senior Citizens Group of Waimea, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, ILWU Local 142 Hawaii Division.

Visitation will be held at 8 a.m. July 13 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 65-1160 Kapiolani Road, in Waimea. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Cemetery, Waimea. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

She is survived by daughters, Luana (Jacob) Keanaaina of Kailua-Kona, Livia (Charles) Graef of Philadelphia, Mississippi; sons, Cheech Sarme Jr. and Russell (Lisa) Sarme of Waimea; sisters, Shirley (Junichi) Nakamoto of Kealakekua and Marjorie Malczon of Kaneohe, Oahu; brother, Walter Shimaoka of Hilo; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Robert Perkins

Robert Kealoha Perkins, 77, of Kailua-Kona, died June 6, 2019, at Tripler Army Medical Center. Born June 9, 1941, in Hawaii, he was a self-employed industrial painter and owner of Ohana Painting and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 9 a.m. on July 12 at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Kailua-Kona. Casual attire.

He is survived by companion, Roxanne Makua of Kaneohe, Oahu; sons, Robert Uina of Alaska, Anthony (Ashlyn) Makahanaloa of Honolulu, Kaleo (Mahi) of Alaska, Robert (Ebby) Perkins Jr. of Kailua-Kona and John (Blanche) Perkins of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Sophia Atoa of Kailua-Kona and Melanie (Nohea) Perkins of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Charles Perkins of Kaneohe, Oahu, Levi (Lynette) Perkins of Holualoa, William (Marsi) Perkins of Kailua-Kona; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sione Katoa

Sione “Osaiasi” Loleini Katoa, 81, of Hilo, died June 24, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Jan. 10, 1938, in Tonga, he was a former rock wall mason and fisherman, and a former pastor for the Free Church of Tonga.

A wake service will be held at 6 p.m. July 5 at the Free Church of Tonga, 15-1518 17th Avenue, Keaau. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. July 6 at the church; burial to follow at Alae Cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Casual attire.

He is survived by sons, Sione (Karen) Katoa of Hilo, Salesi (Kolotita) Katoa of New Zealand, Unaloto (Janine) Katoa of New Zealand and Haileni (Kasanita) Katoa of Tonga; daughters, Uilanoma (Pulileka) Tatu of Tonga, Mele (Tapa) Tapa of Tonga and Losaline (Maka) Taufa of Tonga; three brothers; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
