HOLUALOA — Come for the stroll, stay for the scene.
Tonight Holualoa Village galleries will feature new art and artists, tasty street eats and music all along Mamalahoa Highway as a part of the monthly First Friday Art-After-Dark event from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
The village block party features art and artists in over a dozen galleries and shops, as well as free live music and a great selection of local food vendors. This community event is free and for all ages.
Glyph Art Gallery will be featuring new paintings by Ginger Sandell and Carol Tredway, including Carol’s newest “Kipuka: An Island in a Sea of Fire.” Photographer Don Slocum will be on hand talking story, with an extended selection his metal prints, including his new “Like a Bat Outta Hell.”
M.Field gallery will be featuring a new floral series of paintings by Terry Field. They will also be featuring new one of a kind jewelry pieces by Kiana’s Creations and hosting Pizza Rovers gourmet pizza next to the gallery.
The Holualoa Ukulele Gallery &Workshop will host the music group, Mauna High Notes playing on the front porch. The gallery will be featuring new instruments by Doug Powdell and Paul Arrington.
Studio 7 gallery will be featuring a show of new work titled “Architectural Forms,” by celebrated Holualoa artist Setsuko Watanabe Morinoue. The show continues through Aug. 27.
At Holualoa Gallery, owners/artists, Matt and Mary Lovein will be on hand to meet and greet. Featured artist Jan Z will be showing here line of beach glass jewelry, along with her resin pours. See her “Serve Boards.” In front will be John-E Collinswith fun rock &roll with the possibility of guests, and Kona Kones will be serving their real fruit ice cream.
Pat Pearlman Designs will be featuring Ruby, the birthstone of July. Rubies are a symbol of good fortune, pure love, and loyalty.
At Koa Realty, the always ripping Dave Lawrence will provide musical entertainment under the canopy, alongside the village’s most extensive food offerings.
