Boys &Girls Club of the Big Island youth wins scholarship

Shelsi Candaroma, Boys &Girls Club of the Big Island’s (BGCBI) 2017 Youth of the Year, received a $500 scholarship from Altres Hilo Branch Manager, Kapaelani Comstock. She will attend University of Hawaii Hilo College of Business and Economics with a major in business administration.

Caudell named to dean’s list

Jamie Caudell, of Kailua-Kona, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2019 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Caudell is enrolled in the university’s College of Arts &Sciences. To qualify for the dean’s list in the College of Arts &Sciences, students must earn a semester GPA of 3.6 or above and complete at least 14 graded units.
