Minnie Teshima
Minnie Mineko Teshima, 87, of Honalo, died May 12, 2019, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Aug. 2, 1931, in Keauhou, she retired as owner of Teshima’s Rentals.
Private services were held.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Teshima of Honalo; daughters, Trudy (Edwin) Gramlich of Keauhou, and Donna Burnham of Honalo; son, Harold (Cheryl) Teshima of Kailua-Kona; sister, Helene Topallian of California; one sister-in-law; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Roxanne Olson
Roxanne Barbara Olson died July 13, 2019, at Maui Memorial Hospital. Born Oct. 9, 1969, in Sonora, Calif., she was a resident of Kailua-Kona since 1977, where she helped establish the University of the Nations. She was a longtime member and soloist of The Kona Festival Chorale, costume coordinator and designer for University of the Nations, head usherette at Mokuaikaua Church, craft artist for Mauna Lani Festival of Trees, as well as various ministry and service with Mokuaikaua Church, Youth With A Mission, and internet evangelism.
Memorial services for Roxanne Olson will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 17 the University of the Nations in the Go Center prayer room/auditorium.
Dean Tachibana
Dean “Tachi” Akio Tachibana, 62, of Mountain View, died July 10, 2019, at home. Born Feb. 12, 1957, in Honolulu, he was a Sears sales associate for 45 years in Hilo and Kaneohe and member of Hilo AJA Bowling Club, Orchid Isle Nisei Bowling Club, United States Bowling Congress, Japanese American National Bowling Association, The International Game Fish Association, Hawaiian Invitational Handicap Bowling Tournament Committee, Sears Million Dollar Club and McKinley Class of 1975.
Friends may call at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 4 p.m. service. The family requests casual attire.
He is survived by wife, Cathy “Cat” Tachibana; daughters, Mapuana (Kawehi) Kahoonei, Pohai (JR) Kelson, Kristi Ann Zane, Chandele (Zachary) Ah Chong; parents, Alvin and Hazel Tachibana; brother, Neal (Gail) Tachibana; sisters, Lynn (Tim) Donohue, Todi (Terry) Otsuka, Dede (Barron) Guss; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous hanai children, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Yaeko Miyashiro
Yaeko Miyashiro, 85, of Pepeekeo, died July 19, 2019, at home. Born May 19, 1934, in Hakalau, she was retired from the former Miko Meat Company and a member of Hilo Coast United Church of Christ.
Friends may call at 10 a.m. Aug. 17 at Hilo Coast United Church of Christ in Honomu for an 11 a.m. service. The family requests casual attire be worn.
She is survived by sons, Clayton Miyashiro, Byron Miyashiro, Craig (Ruth) Miyashiro and Randal Miyashiro of Pepeekeo, Tracy (Laura Tobosa) Miyashiro of Hilo, Darrell (Yvette Hata) Miyashiro of Kurtistown; brother, Robert (Tomiko) Kitano of Honolulu; sister, Sakae Higa of Honolulu; grandson, Kypp Miyashiro; numerous nieces and nephews.

Ann Midori Shiroma, 88, of Pahoa, died April 7, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Aug. 25, 1930, in Waikane, Oahu, she was retired from the former Verizon Hawaii.
