Michele Towler

Michele Charlotte Towler, 63, died at home July 17, 2019. Born July 7, 1956, in Lihue, Kauai, she worked for the Hogan Family in the hospitality industry for more than 30 years managing hotel properties on Kauai and in Kona.

A celebration of life was held Aug. 24 at the Royal Kona Resort’s Alii Surf Room.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Margaret Towler.

Survived by sister, April Kaulukukui of Wailua; son, Jaret (Alana) Towler, daughter, Kayli (Matt) VanAken, one niece; one nephew; and five grandchildren.

Antone Gaspar, Jr.

Antone Gaspar, Jr., 87, of Ocean View, died June 20, 2019, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born Nov. 24, 1931, in Napoopoo, he was a construction worker and pool service maintenance man and a USMC veteran.

Inurnment with military honors was held Aug. 23 at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Kailua-Kona.

He is survived by sons, Antone (Iver) Gaspar, III and Gerald (Dennette) Gaspar of Honolulu; sisters, Hazel Palacat of Kailua-Kona and Elizabeth Sampaio of Honolulu; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

David Kalili

David Makalehuanakahaku Kalili, 21, of Hilo, died Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Feb. 7, 1998, in Hilo, he was part of the graduating class of 2016 of Kamehameha Schools Hawaii and continued his education with help from California Luthern University in Thousand Oaks, Calif., where he played football field as a cornerback.

Friends may call 10-11:30 a.m. Aug. 30 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel for an 11:30 a.m. celebration of life. Casual attire. Flower lei are welcomed.

He is survived by mother, Kimber Kehaulani Kalili and father, Thomas Patrick Kalili of Hilo; brother, Gideon Mekealohapauole Kalili of Portland, Ore.; sister, Grace Kaweloaloha Kalili of Hilo; Tutu, Yucibia “Sibi” (Arthur) Hoke of Hilo; grandmother, Patricia Ann Kalili of Hilo; two aunts; one uncle; two cousins; great-aunty and uncle; many family members and close friends.
