Randall Fernandez

Randall Kulia Fernandez, 42, of Hilo, died Aug. 10, 2019, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Aug. 26, 1976, in Hilo, he worked for a moving company in Hilo and he also was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

Friends may call from 5-6 p.m. Aug. 29 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel for a 6 p.m. memorial service. Casual attire. Flower lei are welcomed.

He is survived by wife, Lilia Fernandez of Hilo; son, Joshua (Destiny) Fernandez of Hilo, daughter, Rosemary Fernandez of Hilo; parents, Randy and Magdeline Fernandez of Hilo; sisters, Cecily (Michael) Souza, Victoria Fernandez and Jasmine (Lokahi) Young of Hilo; numerous in-laws; nieces and nephews.

Bernice Tomiyama

Mrs. Bernice Yoshiko Tanaka Tomiyama, 91, of Pepeekeo, died Aug. 18, 2019, in the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Facility in Hilo. Born Dec. 5, 1927, in Maulua, she was a housewife and member of the Honomu Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, Pepeekeo Senior Center and Hawaii Island Adult Care.

Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Aug. 28 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo. Memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Casual attire is requested. No flowers or koden.

She is survived by daughter, Penelope Tomiyama of Honolulu; son, Myles (Sandra) Tomiyama of Hilo; brothers, George (Nellie) Tanaka of Fairfield, California; sisters, Tsuyako Fujitani of Honolulu, Elsie (James) Doherty of New York and Carole (Hardy) Tsutsumi of Hilo; three sisters-in-law; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Jacqueline Livsey

Jacqueline “Nohealani” Miulana Akeo Livsey, 80, of Hilo, died Aug. 15, 2019, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, she was a hula dancer and entertainer for the Kodak Hula Show and a member of the Ladies of the Elks Lodge 759.

She is survived by son, Philip (Nikki) Livsey of Honolulu; two daughters, Miulana Livsey-Carver of Keaau and Mona Livsey of Hilo; two brothers, Philip (Kalei) Akeo, Jr. of Roy, Washington and Paul Akeo of Kailua, Oahu; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Eli Gold

Mr. Eli Micah Gold, 39, of Waimea, died Aug. 14, 2019, at his residence. Born Jan. 7, 1980, in Honolulu, he was a self- employed owner of Island Curb Appeal, a landscaping maintenance service.

Visitation will be held at noon Aug. 31 at Imiola Congregational Church, 65-1084 Mamalahoa Highway in Waimea. Celebration of life will begin at 1 p.m. Celebration of life services will also be held in Honolulu. Visitation will be at 5:30 p.m. and services at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 6 at One Love Ministries, 670 Auahi St., A5. Scattering of ashes will be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 7. Casual attire.

He is survived by his wife, Wynn-Tessa Gold of Kamuela; son, Elijah-Marcus Fuentes Gold; daughters, Elissa-Kaitlyn Masako Gold and Eliora-Grace Moriah Gold, all of Waimea; mother, Joy Gold; father, Michael Gold (Esme Corbett); brother, Kirk (Diane) Markle; sister, Andrea (Kamuela Andretti) Suzuki, all of Honolulu; several aunts and uncles; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Raymond Yoshino

Raymond Isao Yoshino, 89, of Hilo, died Aug. 6, 2019, at home. Born June 28, 1930, in Honolulu, he was a retired Hilo High School math teacher, U.S. Army veteran and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and various golf clubs.

Private services were held.

He is survived by wife, Etsuko Yoshino of Hilo; daughters, Alison (Phillip) Williams of Seaside, Calif., Faye (Mark) Beveridge of Pepeekeo; son, Andrew Yoshino of Hilo; brothers, Robert (Irene) Yoshino of Aiea, Oahu, Roy (Harriet) Yoshino of Honolulu; sisters, Doris Kusuda of Camarillo, Calif., Ellen (Roy) Inouchi of Honolulu; four grandchildren, Krista, Tyler, Melanie, Nicholas; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
