Police looking for Waimea, Puna suspects

The Hawaii Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance with identifying the suspects responsible for a burglary that occurred at a closed business establishment in the 65-1200 block of Kawaihae Road in Waimea.

On Aug. 23, between 10:57 p.m. and 11:05 p.m., two unidentified male parties were observed on video surveillance entering a locked window on the north side of the building on Kawaihae Road. Once in the establishment, the suspects located and removed a black colored safe that was bolted to the floor and contained an undisclosed amount of cash. Suspects then left the establishment taking the safe with them.

The first male party is described as approximately 5-feet-1-inches to 5-feet-6 inches tall with a medium to heavy build. He is observed wearing a short sleeve light-colored shirt, dark-colored pants, a baseball cap with a light-colored front, and dark-colored sneakers with white trim.

The second male party is described as approximately 5-feet-1-inches to 5-feet-6 with a medium build. He is observed wearing a long sleeve light-colored hoodie with partial words on the sleeves and front, which read “Stay Humble.” He was also wearing light-colored surfer type shorts and dark-colored sneakers with white trim.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of these two suspects is urged to contact Officer Kristi Crivello of the Hawaii Police Department at the South Kohala Police Station at 887-3080 or on the department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Big Island Police are also asking for the public’s help in locating two individuals wanted on outstanding warrants, as well as for questioning in a separate criminal investigation.

Police are looking for 50-year-old Kim Kanakamaikai of Puna. He is described as being 5-feet-10-inches, 225 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

The second individual is identified as 24-year-old Tearon Pacheco-Fernandez of Puna. She is described as local, being 4-feet-9-inches, 120 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.
