Upper Cervical Chiropractors opens Waimea office

Atlas Specific Spine Center in Waimea recently opened a facility in Waimea to offer specific upper cervical chiropractic care, the company announced.

Upper cervical adjustments are guided by on-site digital X-ray for maximum specificity. Dr. Tate and Dr. Kate Gentile have extensive post-doctoral training of the cranio-cervical region and adjusting techniques.

The upper cervical region of the spine focuses on the top two bones of the neck, cervical vertebra one and two (C1 and C2), as well as their relationship to the skull. Through 3-dimensional X-rays of the neck, exact misalignment of these bones is determined and in time, corrected.

These two bones determine the alignment of the entire spine and have a profound effect on the health of the entire body, a press release on the opening stated.

At Atlas Specific Spine Center, the doctors are experts in determining any interference to the nervous system. Using technology such as infrared thermography and digital X-ray, corrections are made to the upper cervical spine which, in time, works to return normal physiological function to the body.

Both doctors are also trained in Pediatric Chiropractic and love seeing babies and children. Even the most ideal birth puts a tremendous stress on the head and neck of an infant. The delicate bones of the upper cervical spine can easily misalign and compromise the function of the nervous system, resulting in colic, acid reflux, constipation, inability to latch as well as countless other symptoms. Adjustments to babies are extremely gentle and highly effective, the release stated.
