AstroDay and Robotics Festival
AstroDay returns to West Hawaii in November, hosted by Kealakehe High School in conjuction with its ninth annual Hawaii Island Robotics Expo and Showcase (HI-RES), 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 3.
Observatories from Maunakea and Haleakala will be represented, as well as other technology, education, and cultural organizations. Highlights include Starlab — a portable planetarium provided by the Canada France Hawaii and Gemini Observatories, solar viewing with experienced astronomers, educational games and toys, and many hands-on activities.

Reef Fest event set for Oct. 19
The Legacy Reef Foundation presents its inaugural Legacy Reef Fest, 5-9 p.m. Oct. 19 at the NELHA Gateway Building in Kona, in support of coral restoration and education. Featuring local NELHA seafood, silent auction and raffle, and live music by The Jarican Express. Tickets $48 for adults, $24 for children, available at eventbrite.com.
