Duke Roland Wilson

Duke Roland Wilson, 75, of Kahului, Maui, formerly of Puna, died Sept. 11, 2019, at home. Born in Pahala, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the Board of Directors for The Arc of Maui County, and owner of Kaanapali (Aikane) Trolley.

Visitation will be held from 8:30-10 a.m. Oct. 18 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo. Service at 10 a.m. followed by a Memorial luncheon; Graveside service and military honors to follow at noon at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2

He is survived by, mother, Margaret M. Wilson of Puna; former wife, Monique Wilson of Kahului, Maui; son, Duke Wilson, Jr. of Puna; daughter, Michelle (Don) Perea of Hilo; partner, Gail Kanetani of Kahului, Maui; daughter, Kuhea (Arlie) Asiu of Kahului, Maui; three grandsons; five great-granddaughters; five nephews.

Mary Kalauihilani Mendiola

Mary Kalauihilani Mendiola, 86, of Kurtistown, died Sept. 19, 2019, at the Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Honolulu and was a retired school bus driver.

Celebration of life gathering will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Hawaiian Village at Puhi Bay, Keaukaha. Casual attire; no flowers.

She is survived by sons, Claude (Conchita) Mendiola of Kailua-Kona and Shane (Tina) Mendiola of Hilo; daughters, Donna Galdiera of Kurtistown, Haaheo Kaniaupio of Keaau, Marilyn Mendiola of Hilo and Darlene Mendiola of Mountain View; brothers, Peter (Aggie) Kaaloa of Oahu and John (Janice) Kaaloa of Honaunau; sister, Haaheo Gilman of Waimanalo; 20 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Faye Matsunami

Faye Fujiko Mihara Matsunami, 91, of Pepeekeo, died Sept. 14, 2019, in Hilo. Born July 7, 1928, in Hakalau, she was the retired owner/operator of the former Hakalau Beauty Salon and a member of Hilo Coast United Church of Christ.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Oct. 19 at Hilo Coast United Church of Christ in Honomu for a 10 a.m. service. The family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by sons, Ryan (Kanani) Matsunami of Kona, Kevin (Selma) Matsunami of Papaikou and Stuart Matsunami of Honolulu; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.

Jaxtyn-Jacob Santana

Jaxtyn-Jacob David Santana, 1 of Keaau, died Sept. 12, 2019, at Kapiolani Medical Center. He was born on Oct. 19, 2017, in Hilo.

Jaxyln-Jacob is survived by father, Jonathan David Santana of Keaau; mother, Maelialani Ceiana Almazan of Keaau; brother, Jaestyn Jmark Santana of Keaau; grandparents, Ramil (Lariza) Rivera of Texas, Cynthia Almazan of Keaau.
