Sandra Nesser

Sandra Joy Nesser, 82, of Waikoloa, died Oct. 3, 2019, at Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born Feb. 14, 1937, in Minneapolis, she was the original co-owner of Pot Belli Deli, member of The Mother Church of Christian Science in Boston and Christian Science Society Kona.

Private service.

She is survived by husband, Anthony Nesser, Jr. of Waikoloa; daughters, Deborah (Greg) Skyberg, Brenda (Brad) Bunes all of Minnesota; sons, Mark (Joanne) Nesser of Oregon, John (Brigitte) Nesser of Minnesota, Thomas Nesser of Kailua Kona; grandchildren, a great-grandchild, nieces and nephews.

John Boeggeman

John “Jack” H. Boeggeman, 65, of Kailua-Kona, died Oct. 13, 2019, at his residence. Born March 5, 1954, in Philadelphia, he recently retired as the sole proprietor of JHB Tax Services in Pennsylvania and Kailua-Kona.

He is survived by wife, Robin Boeggeman of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Alyssa (Jeff Walton) Boeggeman; son, John Boeggeman all of Texas; father, John Boeggeman; mother, Rose Lass; sisters, Eileen (Larry) DiTullo, Cynthia Kramarz; brother, Daniel (Linda) Boeggeman all of Pennsylvania; two nephews.

Gary Meltzer

Gary Meltzer, 80, of Hilo, died Oct. 9, 2019, at his home. Born on Dec. 9, 1938, he retired a lieutenant, and an arson investigator with the San Francisco Fire Department, served three years in the US Navy and was in multiple organizations focusing on plants, animals, and nature.

Gary is survived by spouse, Thelma Meltzer of California; daughters, Katherine Meltzer of California, daughter Ann (Joseph) Walls of California.; three grandchildren.

Debra Bellotto

Debra Therese Ku’uleilani Bellotto, of Keaau, died Oct. 5, 2019, at her residence. Born on April 23, 1955, in Lahaina, Maui, she was a homemaker and longtime caregiver to her mother, loved to sing and dance hula.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

She was preceded in death buy husband, Raymond Saragosa; father, Vincent Bellotto; mother, Pauline K. Edwards; grandmother, Sarah C. Kaumeheiwa and one aunty.

She is survived by brother and siblings, Vincent K. Bellotto, Puanani Kaleleiki, Kamalani Kaleleiki, and Hinano Kaleleiki. Also Robin Rodero and Gerald Saragosa, and Paulette Saragosa; children, Brandon K. Bellotto, Cynthia K. Ohashi, Sefan K. Bellotto, and Carlos-Vincent K. Bellotto; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Len Losalio

Mr. Len Hokulani Losalio, 49 of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 18, 2019, at Kona Community Hospital. Born July 27, 1970, in Kealakekua, he was a conservation and resources enforcement officer for the Department of Land and Natural Resources.

A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 2 at Halau Maluhia in Keei. Luncheon and fellowship will follow.

He is survived by his wife, Andi Losalio of Captain Cook; daughters, Olelomoana Losalio of Kealakekua and Lilinoekiliphuinalani Losalio of Kalaoa; hanai sister, Renee Castillon of Maui; son, Hokulani Losalio, II of Captain Cook; hanai brother, Rio Taupu of Keei; hanai sister, Helene Taupu of Keei; a niece; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Thelma Akiona

Mrs. Thelma Leilehua Akiona, 70, of Napoopoo, died Oct. 9, 2019, at her residence. Born Feb. 1, 1949, in Captain Cook, she was a maintenance worker at The Club at Hokulia. She was a grounds keeper at Pu’u Hononua O Honanunau National Park, a room attendant at Kona Village, manager at Kentucky Fried Chicken, and a driver for Avis Rent A Car at Kona Airport.

Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 9 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Kealakekua. Mass will begin at 11 a.m. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

She is survived by daughter, Tammy (Peter Pahinui) of Napoopoo; brothers, Samuel Akiona, Jr. of Napoopoo, and Harold Akiona, Sr. of Honalo; five grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
